You could be Igiss for all I care.

I just realized....
Discovery itself is a conspiracy.
Yeeeessss....
All of the nomnomads shall soon be housepets.
And they shall rule...

the open market

One of these days, there will be a clever, stylish and/or funny signature here.
This is still not that day, however.

What if the creation of the Nomads was a premeditated "up yours" from a race that knew it was going to die out?

I stay away from posting in flood any more (yes), but a thread from my Drai is irresistible.

As a note, everybody knows these conspiracies are just... Well, fact. There's no dissonance about them, just weak denial. But we can only sit and take it.

However, do not involve the OP in any of them - he is much to innocent to be of one.. Yet. And, young nommies are already essentially housepets if you train them right. Trust me on this.

ok

I'm not really in a position to answer that question, I don't know who you know.

Do you know me?
I don't know, do you?

Like Halo? Flood was definitely an "up yours" from the forerunners....

Incorrect, actually.
The Flood's origins are unknown.

The Flood as we know it was actually the fault of Ancient Humanity.

EDIT: I just realised that'd seem a little backwards for people who don't know what I'm talking about: Humans used a supercell found in cylinder things on animals (cue the flood). The origins of these cylinders is unknown.

Oh god dammit, more crazy unprecedented backstory.

In what expanded-universe-comic-book-or-something-that-I-can't-be-bothered-to-keep-up-with-anymore was this tidibt revealed?

My understanding was that it was some extra-galactic parasite that suddenly appeared to the Forerunners and killed 'em off, but the Forerunners locked some up on various installations before they blew everything up, and then the Covenant came along, derped it up on Installation 04, released the Flood there, and then did so again and again on various other Forerunner installations as necessary to the game-plot.

At what point did "Ancient Humans" have access to Flood-cells, anyway?

It is extragalactic, to an extent.
Humanity first found these cylinders hundreds of thousands of years ago (they were an intergalactic empire allied with the Prophets, go figure). After Humanity devised a method of destroying the Flood (turning it against itself, in essence), a surviving portion fled the galaxy. Human disdain for the Forerunner's dominance over the galaxy turned to war, with the Forerunners winning and literally bombing Humanity back to the stone age.
This Flood took this as a great opportunity to return, and thus began the fall of the Forerunners, and the first activation of the Halo array.

I may be slightly incorrect on some points (working from memory), but that's the basic jist.

EDIT: And to answer your first question; Books.
