If forced to pick between the mercs and the pirates, which section do you keep?

Since RR have strong ties with the Outcasts, it's not very far fetched that they've gotten the LR tech through that channel. Ties to Brigands have been acknowledged here by Brigands themselves. Order tech... No alliances there, but if there has to be a tight alliance... Why then does Order have Nomad guns? It makes perfect sense that some tech leak out, and fall in the hands of the opponent. InRL, as InRP! If a ship was heavily outnumbered InRL, and was given the chance to surrender, I think that out of a hundred ships... At least fifty would surrender. InRP we try to do the same, although a lot of us miss that completely. We have a responsibility to our crews.

If one would steal RM tech, and use it against RM, it would simply be a stalemate. Both sides would have the technology to counter the other ones weaponsystems RP-wise. You'd wanna use tech that your enemy can't counter.

Apotheosis... I see that your account isn't very old, but yet I get the feeling that you've been here longer. Long enough to have been pirated by RR and/or killed by the RR-Mercs enough times for you to carry a grudge against them. In 4.85, we could see a lot of RP'd tech on various ships with no nerf at all. I don't see why you make such a fuzz about it! Do you think that five un-nerfed Ahoudoris will be easier to beat than five nerfed Hathors/Rogue GB's/Ascos, or whatever?

In what way is the Order/Nomad situation relevant? I mean, you've got to be kidding, right? The Nomad guns they have aren't Nomad weapons anyway.

Oh, no we have the stereotypes; this isn't a question of grudge. Granted, they've done plenty of things that I've found... distasteful, but that is not reason I posted. So stop trying to discredit me by getting personal.

Just because the situation is better than it was, doesn't mean it is okay.

RR <--- this is referred to as the "original post." Before anyone replies with another redundant question about the RP behind tech usage, I suggest you read it. You know, that little thing you do with your brain and eyes. Took me five minutes to look it over and find everything I needed to know.

@Apotheosis- If you have a problem with the current tech system. The RR's faction creation request is not the place. You are beating a horse and it is dieing fast. Take your concerns here Balance Section The current system allows mixed tech and the nerf system dramatically effects those that take advantage of it.

well, sorry Apotheosis i cant see any insult there. But please stop "spamming" in our Official Faction Request. No one want or wanted to insult you. Your most posts are off-topic here. As many others said it before: Please pm Admins / Devs about your "Technerf problem".. We dont need it here since it is an Official Faction Request Thread.

What's wrong with that if you RP a tech-grabbing pirate scumbag hell-bent on bringing Rheinland to its knees by any means necessary?

From a "purist" perspective, individual players might have an oorp problem with that, but really that is their own problem, not the faction's nor other players'. From a RP perspective some of the involved factions might have a problem with that, and thus plan and carry out RP repercussions. The Order is frequently whining about not having anything to do and anywhere to go, so perhaps they might enjoy pewing RR in the Omegas if it comes to that? Perhaps even rekindle their flame with the 'Sairs, if they feel like they want to do that.

That being said, there definitely is a need to re-evaluate gunboat-related nerfs, as this class of ships usually have a large powercore with fast regeneration coupled with low-energy turrets, which leads to the nerf being less significant compared to other classes of ships when in a fight. But that is hardly RR's fault, and such concerns should be directed at devs/admins.

The Order have no business in the Omegas or Rheinland; they could go a'hunting if the RR jumped into the Omicrons perhaps, but RR are unlikely to go further than Theta/Gamma.

Such problems should be directed towards them; however, if there is an advantage issue, that doesn't mean you are free to abuse it. I just feel that responsibility should be taken in managing the desires in regards to weaponry.

As was a main point, the RP repercussions are limited because RR are operating out of the ZOI of the tech owners; as is obvious with The Order, the same applies to other groups, like The Council.

Roleplay is great, but there is a point where RP becomes degrading to other players, almost bullying. As we see with cap-ganking in the Omicrons by Corsairs, Hunters, Hessians, Outcasts and the like, its difficult to have fun.

I agree that is not RR fault about the balance of the GBs, I also agree that it is not RR fault about the OP Asco GB, however it is their fault to use this gaps in the beta in order to take advantage of them- this is not a behavior of any official faction and should not be one. I cannot accept that 5-6 Gallic GBs with Pirate IDs are riding Gamma or Rheinland or something- i find this basic lolwut pew all that I can with the best tech that I can find group, but as I said it is not RR fault that some other bunch of lolwuts gave them the tech. I just hope that all OP tech mixes and other gaps would be fixed by the dev team sooner or later- RR would die like the Outcast died after the Sabre and Krackens got nerfed so it is np.
