better that the heavy weaponry to be rebalanced too... just tested a heavy mortar in sp... totally a waste of cash...

eats tons of energy, and deals less damage for the same energy than regular turrets. and if you miss... you're dead. same thing for the normal mortar

and if you wanna kill fighters at ease, you don't have to shoot them with flaks. just shoot something big, which is near them, and the fighters will go kaboom with it.


lots of things, but if they will be fixed, it will be ok

Agreed on those mortars

Flaks will lose their anti-cap values when the real anti-cpa guns become what they should be. Long range, hard-hitting and easy to evade for smaller targets.

Tiny speed reducction, Large increasee in damage and the mortars are ok (power consumption is fine... the heavy one is energy-inefficient compared to the normal one tho)

I remember something like this.

It was about missile turrets.

Those haven't been removed, even though so many rallied around that flag.

I voted no. I don't want them removed. Why? People who know me know that I don't like to PvP. Ever. There are more effective ways to settle differences, and when there isn't, there is the exit button.

To get rid of those idiot NPCs! That is the only reason I used flak, back in the day. I wanted to look around, and lo and behold, oodles of hard to hit, torpedo-wielding gnats would fly around me and needle me to insanity.

Ergo, flak.

Remove if you will, God knows I don't have any say (equality, ha!), but I'm strictly against the removal of the flak weaponry. And if this poll is old, and I get accused of grave-digging, I'll throw a dead-man's skull at the accuser. Because, y'know, I have those in stock.

Always be prepared!

Flak it should be have small damage, fast refire rate, fast speed and good turn rate..

Most of all, a flak should be an extremely fast-firing weapon with low damage, like real flaks. it should be useless against caps, but absolutely genius vs fighters.

Sorry, but flak certainly was able to knock down aircraft with one shot, just depended on how close it hit. An 88mm shell popping near the wing of a B-17 had no trouble taking the big bird down, tough as she was.

I really like the paper-scissors-rock weaponry proposed. Mortars being the primary way to take out cruisers and larger, medium batteries for destroyers and gunboats and maybe the heavy fighters with the worst turn rates, and then flak for the small stuff. This forces choices on players when they arm their ships and invites teamwork. If your BB mounts mortars he should be the terror of other large cap ships. If he mounts medium weaponry then the smaller more dodgy cap ships should fear him. And if he mounts mostly flak then the fighters need to stay away or die.

Well, I wasn't referring at the german 88 flak, but at ships antiaircraft system. If you want a balanced simulator, try Battlestations: Midway. You will see that i was right about this one:)

More proof of flak's unbalancedness. I did the calculations, and if your average Vanilla BS has a cap armor MK VIII, BS shield, and basically everything to max defense, it'll go down in about 6.5 seconds from ONE Flak Cannon.. If my calculations are correct. If not, it's still fast.
