Publishers CAN have a big impact on the games themselves, yes.

Publishers can have effect as you cannot publish your game without their investment. Publishing and distribution is the key element of any retail thing. It literally affects how much you sell. Therefore, they push the deadlines, force trends etc according to their own adgenda and studios usually have to submit to their will in order to be able to release their games

@ KLAW

EA has demolished and f.ed up around 10 studios in the last 15 years so every BioWare lover is on edge. Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 didn't help to ease this feeling at all.

Ahem! ^_^

Woop woop! hope it's bloody true!
I should also point out that it has been quoted that the Bioware Director just wanted the ending for ME3 (as it is now) to be just really talked about debated about and he has achieved that without a doubt.

After buying and completing Mass Effect 3 with an imported character from ME2 that experienced no problems with importing the face properly whatsoever, if anyone wondered. I can say this:

Mass Effect 3 was pretty damn awesome, you can definitely tell that Drew Karpyshyn (lead writer of ME1 and half of ME2 before leaving to work on SWTOR) is gone, which while sad, also didn't turn out that badly at all, the story was pretty awesome, right up until the last 20 minutes of the game, which I won't spoil. Suffice to say, while the end result was what I expected, the delivery was not handled properly. The endings are all suitable, sure, but they could've been way better, and could've been handled differently in their current state to make them feel 'better'.

I enjoyed Mass Effect 3 quite a bit, but I feel let down about stuff like that, but I know who to point the blame at.

Anyways, as for Day one DLC, it's totally unnecessary, that content is in no way critical to the story of the game as far as I can tell, given that I did perfectly fine without it.

In all, the game's good, no doubt about that. But I'm done with BioWare now because EA has definitely got their claws firmly burrowed into BioWare's hindquarters and they're not gonna let go anytime soon.

BioWare is the next Westwood, no doubt.

So now that I've finished the story of Commander Shepard, I'm done.

You and everyone else;)

And I agree LoLRawr, the game was pretty fecking awesome (The entire Quarian section being one of my favorite out of alot) but the endings really didn't do justice to long-term fans and that is why so many people are upset such as any conclusions to the relationships you made, what happened to them, what happened after the ending scene etc. it's why I REALLY hope the article I linked in my last post is true and there will be a better ending.

I was upset when Drew announced his departure but again I agree, it didn't turn out half bad! especially all the little bits and throw backs to the previous games (one example when you and Garrus take a break on the citadel)

[color=#FFFFFF]The irony of it all, Mass Effect 3 contained some of the last flashes of sanity from the indoctrinated Bioware, before the rEApers totally consume them...

And as I said numerous times that makes it a good game but a bad Mass Effect game. I can't wait to see Yahtzee eat his words when 2 years ago he said that "We know by default that Bioware games have good writing"

Well, they generally do! it was just a shame that Drew decided to focus on his screenplay instead of finishing his Mass Effect writing first:(
