1) Buy a gunboat
2) Equip faction specific gb turrets (cap armor upgrade too if you wanna be fancy)
3) Learn to turret steer with turret zoom effectively
4) You are now using guns, enjoy

Gunboats are too expensive for me, and I'm not in a faction to get Faction Turrets.

I already know of Turret Steering but I'm a Fighter pilot not a cap one....

Ok, since Guardian's Faction ship, should I get a Stinger?
I've read in the wiki and they said it is similar to the Guardian, but since it's civilian then I can use it.

I've had a Stinger before and found it was alot of fun, though I'm not great at fighter pvp so I can't say its the best or anything.

Well you wanted to know about missile boats. I haven't tried one for a while so here it goes. I used the 6 gun Border World Heavy Fighter. In single player its a one hit wonder against bombers and fighters. Most things go down with one volly of all 6 missiles hitting them at once. The blast radius is plenty to end a bomber, but an armored one would take two hits, maybe three. SNAC does it better.

I fought in a real pvp 4 badguys and 4 good guys and me. I waited each time for the target circle to spin, (I think, hope that means its locked on) and fired, and turned away to avoid blast damage. After 12 times, I never scored a it. I did notice with all the CDs and random mines floating around there is a fantastic chance they were being destroyed before getting close to the target, but I was about 400-600 m range when I fired. Typical gun range. In the end, my 6 missiles must have hit a mine or cd at close range and that was the end of me.

Perhaps one on one, has a better chance for success, but in close quarter combat, I'm supprised I didnt wipe out an ally in the attack. Im sure with a ramming speed and firing move I could take one out, but thats really bad RP and pvp.

Lag and different connection speeds also factor into not hitting anything or the wrong things. I'll give it another week before I go full Civilian guns. If I can at least eke some scored hits, I'll see what Im doing and repeat it.

Border Worlds heavy fighter? you mean the Sabre right?.

Can't say anything good about it... really it's big, it's slow, it's BIG! don't know exactly, but everyone's a master with it and I'm THE worst pvp'er of all videogames in existence with it.

What loadout did you use? I mostly used variated stuff for more ammo, you fitted several cannons and a paralizer or sidewinders?

Also, watch out for CD's and mines, you hit/get hit by one and it's like a small nuke that eats lots of armor, if you can, try to fit a dummy missile you can use to lure people into launching CD, then drop your entire Q on them after that, it hurts a lot.

Missile boats are better suited for Jousting and less for dogfights, missile effectiveness depends on the ship speed, and that makes Starkillers your companion cube. When in a dogfight, try to get besides the other guy or somewhere you can go and rush straight to them and where they can't turn away much, it really hurts when that happens. But yeah, missiles are best at 1v1 fights, RM loves ruining my fun at playing the game....Well that was even before I got missiles

But your worst enemy ever is Lag....just lag, it makes missiles stand still and not even remember they were launched, with CDs you can at least wait for them to hit then launch, but Lag lasts longer, so if you can just run away when you're lagged, or try to spam nukes or something else you can hurt with.

I'll see if I can show Disco Caldari can Solo PVP too and win after I get a bit of practice with guns, it also helps a bit at aiming where to launch too;)

Luka, I'll give you a pirate KuEx if you want it? Works very nicely with Corsair turrets, turret zoom+turret steer and its 600k power core. You'll run out of energy at some point with the nerf and all, but it really does some heavy damage.

Also another good ship is the arrasta (or whatever it's called - the strange mining ship). A RR guy was pwning everything in Conneticut using turret steer in it the other day. Turret zoom+steer us the new ultimate combo - and the best thing is it works even if your aim is horrid (like mine)

I'm not a good pvp-er, but always looking for training. Since I'm a pervert, I prefer bombers for that, but I have a character in Connie, just for training.

If you wish, we could train anytime when both of us have enough time for it. Maybe you could learn by training with somebody who is on the same level.

You know, if you learn from others mistakes, you are a clever boy.;)

If you want I'll show you the basics of sliding/gliding when we're both in Conn(keep in mind that that wont help you much if you use missiles). Goes for anyone whos interested in fighters.
