You have no idea how amusing this was to read :D

On the whole, I support this idea. Having a character select option would be cool (Heck, even a coustume select tool would be cool, if we can't get rid of Trent's head.) From what I understand, it is possible to do, just don't ask me for any tips as to how. Also, all the coustumes for diffrent factions are already made up, so you should just be able to slap them onto your character without having to do any crazy modeling. That being said, however, the character files are a pain to navigate, so I wouldn't request something like this of the devs unless someone came up with detailed instructions on how to do it in a quick, easy way.

Let it burn.

If this would help:

I've installed disco yesterday again (in order to train low-level-ships with NPCs), if you active the mod in the mod manager, there was an option, what costume your character will has.

In order to implement this feater, I wouldn't make it dependence from the ID at first. Later you can maybe do this.
As whole: You can maybe find the place where you've to screw a bit, if you record, what this activation option changes.

why dont YOU go into the fl data folder

and YOU go into the CHARACTERS folder

and YOU edit trents 3D head, Body, arms, legs,hands and Animation .DFM files

and YOU go into the audio folder

and YOU change trents DIALOGUE folder

and YOU stop pestering the devs and let them get on with the next installment of disco.

Just sayin
