But it should be a dock and switch rather than an f1 out, the two chars should be at the same base, and friendly with each other (be weird to have a lawful trader helped out by a phantom menance). For roleplay justification it would be like sending out a distress call and your other char answering.

Of course. I wasnt suggesting to F1 on spot and bring a BS. I was suggesting to run to the base where the other char is, and then switch chars. Is like if i dock in a station, leave my cargo vessel parked there and board a fighter (which is at that station) to attack the pirates..
And yes, they should be friendly each other, and hostile towards the attacker.

Ya, I was just making sure everything was clear to anyone else with the same idea.

Been here since Discovery 4.77 (lurk mode engaged)
Zapp Wrote:I have recently met and discussed with Atalawohisdi the trader that flies the Caribe. Just so everyone knows, I engaged in Sigma 13. He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.
He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.
whats wrong with a couple of people playing escort duty in fighters?
It'd be more realistic to have an extra 2 or 3 people flying fighters, only very rarely do you see a frieghter, transport, train on it's own. If they are alone it's probably because the escorts got killed or are fighting off some pirates.
And besides which it's not exactly easy to kill a player transport/train, they do have shields, so it'll probably take 5+ novas to kill a train which'll be hard to do if they have escorts.

Train shields are easily taken out. The one I destroyed lost in some gunfire and two novas. I'm not sure if it had an Armor Upgrade or not.
Thats using ships outfitted to kill cap-ships, not using fighters outfitted to handle other player fighters.
Nearly everyone has anti-shield weapons and nova torps, this is getting so boring when you can predict what weapons your opponent is gonna be using.
nearly every fighter I scan has nova torps, 2 or 4 nomad cannons, 2 or 4 codename weapons and at least 1 or 2 tizonas.
There are loads of weapons out there, why keep using the same ones over and over again? So what if they are the ones that do the most damage. That is still no reason for everyone to use the same ones over and over again. try being alittle original.
When the Blood Dragon VHF is fixed I won't be using Wilds on it. Ill be using some other gun (most likely a 8.33 or 4.00 fire rate) but will still have tizonas. Tizonas are the only weapons effective against BS shields.
