Hey Tannik, how can I set the controls so it is move with the mouse and not the keyboard? Its really hard right now because my fingers are all over the place.
' Wrote:dang. is there any game similar to freelancer that use can use a mouse with? i hate joysticks with a passion.
Try Freespace- preferably Freespace 2.
It's the best space-sim made to date, receiving tons of awards, in spite of not getting much sales (crap advert campaign)
It's from 1998, but as in graphics, it's better than Freelancer. Its main feature is the giant ships... imagine a huge battle, 20 terran fighters versus strange, red, droning Shivan heavily armored fighters, lasers, beams, turrets everywhere... and BOOM!
A ten kilometre ship jumps into the battle. Its front four beam cannons charge up with a huge whoosh, then spit out a horrendous beam of blue light into Shivan cruisers, literally splitting them in half. Then, Shivans send two of their Sathanas, 11 km long enormous ships looking like spiders. The sound of their engines runs through your brain, you're scared... yet you fight on. Hornet missiles fly everywhere, that's the main point of Freelancer warfare- missiles, torpedoes.
You can fly from light fighters to bombers- in all, about 30 ships. You can call for reinforcements, direct your wingmen, request resupplying of ammo.
The plot is known for its unpredictability- for example, you're sent out to capture a rogue captain. When you arrive, it's obvious your HQ gave you the wrong coordinates, he escapes.
Suddenly, all of your allied ships turn towards you.
You escape after the rogue battleship captain, but the hole leads into a huge nebula...
lost in the crackling noise of thunders, you pick up a horrendous sound of monstrous engines pushing through the cloud.
You pick it up on your radar... A fleet of 5km long glowing red battleships is heading for your home system...
To put it in one word- Intensive.
Fascinating.
Definetely the best game I've played in my life.
Sorry for the amount of text, but when i write about something i love, i can't stop myself -.-'

Oh since I'm here... Yeah the game is with potential, but will probably never be completed, since 90% of the dev team abandoned BTRL cause of disagreements and started their own.
Their project is called Diaspora, and has pure distilled win. Google is your friend.
EDIT: However, gravedigging is something that should -not- be done without a proper reason, or a significant addition to the argument. Also, when you gravedig, at least try to be on topic for God sakes..
