[color=#FFCC33]Transmission to all Liberty Rogues
From Roger Claymore

'ello lads. I'm sure ya've 'eard o' me. Tha name's Roger Claymore, 'n' not too long ago I decided to try ma luck in tha big bad world outside o' Liberty 'n' Cassini. I was a Rogue for thirty years, in tha Cassini Guard for twenty o' those. It was a strange thing for me really. 'ad never left Liberty space before, 'n' didn't know what to expect.

All I knew was ma destination, a tiny littl' system in tha Omegas called Omega-7. I'd 'eard there were a few minin' operations goin' on there, 'n' decided to check 'em out, maybe make a few creds piratin' tha minas if security wasn't too tight.

Lads, let me tell ya, it went betta than planned. Much betta. In ten days I was infamous in tha system, minas fled or paid while I was still fourteen klicks out. Security was sparse at best, a few Kruger Eagles or tha occasional Rheinland Military ships. I made 'alf a billion creds from Omega-7 alone.

Then I expanded ma operations. Went to Tau-23 and Dublin as well as keeping up with Omega-7. Life was good, real good. I got enough in ma bank accounts right now to retire a 'undred times, but why stop?

Over tha last few months, security 'as been growin' tighter 'n' tighter in these systems. Just a few days ago I 'ad a Bretonian battleship 'n' two gunboats attack ma lone Roc. Tha problem in Dublin is that they're gettin' bad experiences from tha Indians, w'o decide to use seven Sabres 'n' an Ahoudori 'gainst a lone Roc. So tha lawfuls treat all o' tha other independent pirates tha same way as they treat tha Indians - which is to bring as much force as they got to crush 'em. Tau-23's got tha Colonials 'n' tha IMG, w'o 'ave some decent and active patrols. Tha first time I went to Tau-23 I found an IMG battlecruiser, 'n' 'e decided to attack ma lonesome self. Well, some other guys showed up 'n' we sent 'im back to Java lickin' 'is wounds. 'n' Omega-7 recently 'as been receivin' more security, although it's tha best o' tha three. But still, Kruger minas 'avin' access to Artificial Intelligences commandin' cruisers ain't somethin' ya want ya prey to 'ave. Tha Indians are gettin' 'em as well.

So, I've been gone for over six months. Why am I sendin' this message now, ya may be askin'. Well, I've decided to share tha opportunity of earnin' so much with all o' tha Rogues w'o got me through the initial stages o' becomin' a pirate.

This's a general invitation. Sick o' barely scrappin' it by in Liberty 'gainst tha security that's tighta than... well, can't think o' a good metaphor. But ya ain't got any decent minin' fields to find rich minas in to pirate, 'n' when I fight lawfuls it's to get to tha minas, not to stay by some lane 'n' wait for a transport that may neva come. Tha point is, that when battleships 'n' destroyers come after me in Dublin I can't do much, 'cos I'm alone. But 'ow 'bout six Rocs? A part o' gettin' paid is showin' tha minas what 'appens when they don't pay. They see a battleship blowin' up, they're gonna pay.

This group is called Roger's Rocs'. Ya got enough creds to get a Roc 'n' want to fight to pirate tha rich minas o' Dublin, Omega-7 'n' Tau-23? Get on down to Freeport One in Omega-3 (a good course from Liberty is bein' sent with this message) 'n' I guarantee ya'll make creds in no time. Why work alone for a pittance when ya can work with a team for a fortune, eh?

---

Now, in this group there are two separate sorts of members. There are ex-Liberty Rogues, who heard the transmission above and joined Roger. But there are also other independent pirates who have joined after Roger recruits them (recruited in-game). The latter would most likely have joined for mutual benefit, as it's always better to go as a group than be alone. They operate with Roger's Rocs' when it benefits them, but are still independent pirates and have their own diplomacy.

Actually, this applies to both groups. However, the ex-Lib Rogues are far more dependent on Claymore as he's called them in and they wanted to join with him rather than Roger wanting each individual person to join with him. But there are personal grudges which Roger has which would not be best for the group (i.e. against the Hessians and the Junkers) but other members of the group would not need to become involved in these grudges unless they wanted to.

Basically, the latter group can get involved in any part of the group that they want to and still act independently. The ex-Liberty Rogues are more inclined toward operating as a unit as they've been promised that in the message above.

All members fly Rocs. Roger loves Rocs, and he sees them as the perfect ship for everything. So to avoid extra costs and possible personal ship preferences, everybody in the group flies a Roc. This avoids possible dependency on factions e.g. requesting Titans from Corsairs would make us inclined to owe them something in return. And there are of course other pirate groups who would not like that. Titans was a bad example, seeing as that would never happen even if Rocs weren't the only ships.

<strike>There are no ranks.</strike> There are three ranks: Crime Boss, Underboss and Roc. Roger simply tries to order the members what to do. The ex-Liberty Rogues part of the group are more inclined to follow those orders than the independent pirate side, who are not-so-dependent on Roger to survive. Although if they work together with Roger in everything it'd probably help them thrive.

The Freelancer IFF would be used with the Pirate ID.

A diplomacy has yet to be drawn up.

And you'd like a public roster to be able our character names, wouldn't you... Sorry, no public roster. I've had too much experience with people power-gaming my character names from a roster or looking up whether I'm in a faction or not and bad-mouthing me for it. Besides, it adds to the mystery. Who's involved in this group, and who isn't? There are no naming conventions so really, you'll have to interact with us before you know who we are.

I suppose it is, actually. Still, there are other groups which use the Freelancer IFF and it just seems to make more sense. I just wish there was a Pirate IFF, because I still have people telling me I can't pirate because I'm a freelancer, and even that's it sneaky because I'm neutral to them they automatically believe that they're neutral to me and I'm abusing the IFF by not being hostile to the lawfuls.

no IFF at all would be your friend here. ofc, that would require occasional tweaking, but it would be more fitting.

however, i can see you coming into trouble with the hessians, and the corsairs for squatting in their sandbox

I'll have to consider removing the Freelancer IFF. I do see the benefits of not using an IFF.

And relationships will other factions will have to be a "wait and see" process. We're not going to avoid certain systems to please certain groups like the Hessians and the Corsairs. We may for the Mollys (concerning pirating in Dublin), but that's the only group I really see us giving any sort of concession with.

Oy Roggy! Olive 'ere!

Man, I havent heard of you for months brah! We should get over an' talk a lil' bit.

A little lol from my side, Tom, I wondered if Olivia Dunham is capable of flying Roc by the notorious Claymore's side.

She's both a ex Rogue and Molly.

I think it would be cooler if you used the LR ranking system, with a few fixes and less ranks.

This my friend is a great idea, to use a character influence to start a sort of gang or group:)

Very good indeed, hey I may even join if I weren't useless in a fight xD

Thumbs up from me mate!
