[color=#FFFFFF]Bonjour,

Yet again, more Council blood has been shed as they continue to stand against the people of Gallia in their selfish quest.

This time, however, it was in the form of an entire renegade Battleship, that decided to face down two of our Battleships, including the Acre, while accompanied by a Sirian Battleship of some sort.

Word came to me from our patrols in Lorraine, who had sighted a pair of large, unidentified ships passing around the system. I immediately readied the Acre for combat, summoned the crew and un-moored from Dijon. After a few moments, the Normandie joined us, and we moved out towards the Lorraine system.

Once there, we found the two of them within the northernmost field of asteroids, and moved to battlestations, as we know what negotiating with hostile Battleships, especially Sirian ones, brings. So we struck while they were disorganised, with horrific force. We focused on the main instigator, the Council Battleship, which was torn apart by the combined might of the Acre's and the Normandie's heavy weapon batteries.

[color=#66FFFF]COUNCIL BATTLESHIP DESTRUCTION

[color=#FFFFFF]We then turned on the Sirian Battleship and opened fire, but in the time it took to bring down the Council battleship, it had fled to a hidden rebel base within the field. However, knowing the power of our guns, we tore onward, and opened fire upon it. But before we could bring it down, it managed to move within the base's shields.

At the sight of this, and with the Acre's manoeuvring thrusters beginning to overheat in compenstation for the constant bombardment of asteroids, we withdrew, moving back to Dijon.

Long live the King!

I undocked the RNS Beuvray for a standard scheduled patrol at 14.30GMT. When I arrived at Dijon station, I found a very unpleasant surprise. Just as I was about to forget them, I saw a Perilous class vessel undock from Dijon. Nothing special, but this gunboat however, was tagged as RSC|. Oui, the RSC have returned. After their failed attempt to assasinate Princess Alice, we destroyed all their rogue vessels. At least that is what we thought.

I tried to question the captain of the "[color=#FFFFFF]RSC-|Condemned
", but it set course for the Lorraine Jump hole without much words. Attempts to disrupt him somehow failed, so I went after him while alerting other available pilots. While in pursuit, I continued to question him. He told me the RSC were equipping themselves once again, pretending to be true Navy members to get access to our supplies.

Once he made it to Lorraine, he joined up with another RSC Perilous, the "[color=#FFFFFF]RSC-|Obsidian
". They were making outrageous accusations against the crown, saying we were cooperating with the Council, and other nonsense. They were trying to get away again, so I engaged the two gunboats, assuming backup would arrive soon. The RSC have horrible pilots, so I didn't have much trouble keeping them busy, and even doing some damage. Backup arrived, Commandant Valence came to assist me, and even the Grande Marechal herself interrupted her Christmas celebration to deal with these traitors.

The gunboats never stood a chance, and their ships were destroyed quickly. I sincerely hope we killed this return of the RSC before they had a chance to organize themselves, but I have a feeling this wasn't the last we heard from them.

It's been a while since I submitted my last report. Are the channel codes still the same? I hope they are.

This day was eventful. My first shift started at 1300. Colonel Lavelle was commanding both Valence and Amaury at that moment. I joined the squadron and moved to Languedoc in order to identify and gather scans of Council activities near Nimes Station. A worthy catch, but managed to escape.

The second shift started at... Well, can't recall right now. This time Commandant Picard warned me about the presence of a Sirian gunboat. This time we tore the ship into ionized pieces. Minutes later the pilot began to shout something about him -or her- willing to aid the Royal Navy by giving us information about "Nomads". We ignored the pilot and performed a recon mission around Champagne. A Council cruiser was patrolling near Marne's orbit, so we put in practice our diplomatic skills. After this, we moved back to Burgundy.

Third and last shift. Seems the new year altered Picard in some way because she poked me to launch another diplomatic mission into Champagne. This time we brought Sous-Lieutenants Fortier and Lanzerath with us, though the last one had some problems with the ship's portable toilet, so Kelly Levacher from the 3eme fleet joined us. Council forces decided to take a break after New Year, because nobody showed up to intercept us... Except a Redemption battleship. We got scans of that toy and made some shield-busting practice before the ship docked with Reims.

Once we reached Nevers' orbit, Picard decided to teach some lessons to a Navy aspirant (Ace.Lancer) we found around Champagne. He was smart, though he still needed to spend more time at the Naval Academy. On the other hand, we met a member of the so-called 'Angels'. Oui, those who carry galaxy-obliterators around the sector. This one looked harmless, yet quite talkative. Expect her visits more times.

That'd be all. Giroux out. Beep!

::Setting his blank flight helmet on the small desk inside his quarters, he takes a quick look at the other helmet that sits next to it. Belonging to him, the design had been passed down through the years honoring the past, but perhaps this helmet of the past, of his Grand Prix career is of another life as a new one had started just today. Setting his old weathered flight gloves down next to the helmets, he smirked slightly as these gloves were the one thing he refused to change. As the conduit between man and machine, these gloves were passed down as well, and had been raised in triumph through many victories on the Grand Prix circuit. BEGIN TRANSMISSION

Today was the end for one journey and the start of another. After finalizing my paperwork and authorizing my identification, I was assigned my craft and went out into Space, not as a Grand Prix Pilot, but as a Sous-Lieutenant in our Royal Navy, the Vanguards for all of Gallia. I await my first sortie in service to the Crown and look forward to that first flight just as when I first settled myself for my first race. For the first time since our home worlds were sealed away, the Shooting Star will fly once more.

In Defense of the Crown

Colonel Aubert Giroux submitting Priority 2 report. Few hours ago I encountered a Sirian while patrolling Luneville'€™s perimeter. Finally, my suspicions were confirmed: I came across the same ship few weeks ago in Burgundy, near Nevers. This time we engaged in a long conversation, giving me enough time to scan the vessel.

Now I'll attach the voice recordings...

GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Unexpected guest?
<CLASSIFIED>: Ain't it a little to far from new paris?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: New Paris is still far from our war against the Council.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, who's there? Any identification will be welcome.
<CLASSIFIED>:*smiles* You don't remember, do you?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I've got too many things to deal with everyday..
<CLASSIFIED>:It was... Burgundy I think.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oh, I remember. Valence was alongside me. You had a wingmen with you too
<CLASSIFIED>: I've asked you what lies behind the closed gate and why it was closed for so long.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And your ship's energy levels, oui, I recall.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And I ask you now, why is it that important for you?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Don't you have anything better to worry about? In Sirius?
<CLASSIFIED>:Sirius? Why should I worry what happens to it?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Well, you came from that minefield, that's for sure.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And I presume you already know our policy against foreigners..
<CLASSIFIED>:True enough. Minefield it would be.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Unless you actually have something REALLY useful for the Crown.
<CLASSIFIED>:I know of the policy and I know of exceptions too... otherwise I would not have returned from Burgundy, would I?
She was well informed about our behaviour, now I figure why she was acting so polite... Oui, I decided to make an exception last time.

GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, how may I enforce that exception again?
<CLASSIFIED>:Royals don't come often to this particular place.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: This cloud? Somebody has to check those terrorists don't threat that outpost near the minefield.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Terrorists, as the Maquis, that is.
<CLASSIFIED>:*laughs* And that someone just had to be you again. Coincidence?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Wouldn't be the first time I came across the same 'Outcast' warship in this place.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, I find it quite ordinary.
<CLASSIFIED>:I do not believe in coincedences. Everything falls into a plan. Question whether one knows it, or assumes to know.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Perhaps it was part of your 'plan'?
<CLASSIFIED>:Perhaps.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So ... What's the next step now I found you?
<CLASSIFIED>:You may try to follow that policy and attempt to kill me...
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Fortunately, a Colonel may ask first before shooting.
<CLASSIFIED>: Ah, so a rank of colonel. Is that a part of policy too for colonels to wander around all alone?
<CLASSIFIED>:No battleships. No cruisers. No banners high and crowd cheering. No?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Who's telling you I'm completely alone?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Maybe your ship's scanners are 'blind'.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Mines aren't, that's for sure.
A navy patrol stumbled upon the scene, as well as a Maquis rookie group

<CLASSIFIED>:Right now you are. Those two soldiers here buzzing around... well...
<CLASSIFIED>:Looks like they're quite occupied.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I bet they can do a good job.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oui, occupied, so I'll have to deal with you.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, again, what do you want?
<CLASSIFIED>:Brilliant. I was about to ask you the same!
<CLASSIFIED>:How good to know that we have a common language after all.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Well, you're the intruder here.
<CLASSIFIED>:Not quite.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: *Shrugs* Well, if you wish to keep playing this game about who's more intellectual ...
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I always can call the heavy artillery and remove you.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: But, I'm giving you a chance, you know.
<CLASSIFIED>:And then you wouldn't know the answer.
<CLASSIFIED>:Killing me would not do you any good.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Prove me wrong then.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I'm listening.
<CLASSIFIED>:You have already seen me before. You have scan logs. I do not think your superiors would want you to...
<CLASSIFIED>:Otherwise the policy would have worked back then. It did not.
<CLASSIFIED>:Ah yes... You want to. But you know you cannot.
<CLASSIFIED>:Delicious irony.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We could call it a 'Touche', maybe.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: But again, this is not what I'm looking for.
<CLASSIFIED>:Of course. Surely these maquis rabble here isn't what you came here for.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Maquis are our 'everyday meal'. Who cares. But an individual like you, in such ship ... that's not very common.
<CLASSIFIED>:And there are uncommon times, colonel.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We'll see once we reach Sirius
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, can I have my answer now?
<CLASSIFIED>:You will. In time you will. Others are growing aware.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: As I said, I've answered enough questions coming from you.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Now it's your time to tell me why you are so concerned about what's in our Core Worlds.
<CLASSIFIED>:History. You've been here for long enough in isolation, barely anyone outside knows much about who you are.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And why should we let outsiders know about us? About our History?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We were isolated for a reason.
<CLASSIFIED>:Only ignorant ones discard history. Yes, you've isolated for a reason. Last one to arrive...
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Last one to arrive...
<CLASSIFIED>:Giant sleeperships, carrying away from the war torn home. The last hope.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Well, looks like 'war' is part of our genetics. Thousands of years later, here we are.
<CLASSIFIED>:Have you been outside?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Non, but I've been told about wars in Sirius.
<CLASSIFIED>:What do you think of them?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Why should I have an opinion about the problems of the others?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We've got our own problems here. I don't care about Sirian's
She offered herself to help me to destroy the Maquis rookies ... Definitely this Sirian knows about diplomacy...

<CLASSIFIED>:Looks like these maquis are pesky types... let me give you a hand here.
<CLASSIFIED>:Rabble indeed.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: They tend to ram our Valors. Fools.
<CLASSIFIED>:Also, you aren't quite right when saying you don't care about sirians.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I don't care about the problems of Sirians.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: That's different.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Wars, etc.
<CLASSIFIED>:But you are interested in their technology.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We would need to know about our future enemies.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Actually, current enemies.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: But we haven't met in the battlefront yet.
<CLASSIFIED>:Enemies... Many outside think you are a threat.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We think the same about them.
<CLASSIFIED>:Not everyone thinks the same, colonel.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Like the first time, you just came here to teach me morale lessons, right?
<CLASSIFIED>:Morale? You've opened a wrong translation book, colonel.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Then tell me what book to open.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And perhaps I could end my shift soon, and you'd be back at home alive too.
<CLASSIFIED>:There are some who might help you actually.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I'm listening.
<CLASSIFIED>:They sent me to see how approachable would you be.
<CLASSIFIED>:I told you back then... to evaluate.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And what's the evaluation mark?
<CLASSIFIED>:Many words and definitions... In short: doable.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I see. And when would you end this evaluation?
<CLASSIFIED>:In due time, colonel. Perhaps... If we would speak at more comfortable situation.
<CLASSIFIED>:Rather than being shot by this petty rabble.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oui, I think that giving you a chance will be worthy for us.
<CLASSIFIED>:Other sirians think you are monsters... it seems they are wrong, aren't they, colonel?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Why would we be monsters?
<CLASSIFIED>:Beliefs. Prejudice. Fear...
<CLASSIFIED>:Like you said the war is in genes and follows wherever you go... fear also follows as well.
<CLASSIFIED>:With your permission I'll stay here. We'll speak later, oui?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oui
She docked with Lixheim base, the Junker outpost orbitting planet Nancy. There will be two Navy scout wings monitoring the space traffic coming from Lixheim until we decide what to do with the Sirian. I'll be awaiting for orders, Marechal. Giroux out.

CommID: Sous-Lieutenant Nathan Blanc

Sous-Lieutenant Blanc submitting a report for my patrol.

As per orders from naval command, I proceeded with a two hour patrol of Burgundy and the surround systems. My patrol was largely uneventful, I assisted other patrols in the elimination of several Council patrols but that was mere childs play. The traitors were quickly dispatched with only a single ship on our side destroyed. I know not what happened to the pilot, but if he died then it should be noted that he died gloriously in the kings name.

Eventually when my patrol Planet Nevers I caught pilot carrying prisoners. The ship was of Sirian design so I immediately ordered it to stop. The pilot claimed to have authorisation to carry the prisoners from Luneville, he transmitted authorisation data. The data appeared genuine but I questioned him on his ship, apparently he bought it from a trader (perhaps that should read traitor?) who had circumvented our minefield and bought it from the Sirians.

I gave him orders to sell the ship to a rare item dealer, whom I'm sure will quite quickly relinquish it to the navy. I then told him to reapply for authorisation. We will know shortly enough if he was lying or not.

[ 21:43:41] GRN|Nathan.Blanc.: Do you mind telling me what you're doing with in Gallia?

[ 21:44:15] TheDude: it is.. in Languedoc system
[ 21:45:43] GRN|Nathan.Blanc.: And you have proof of this and proof that you're authorised to transport prisoners in the name of the king?
[ 21:46:21] TheDude: Proof of being born here? How else could i be here with all the mines around?
[ 21:46:56] GRN|Nathan.Blanc.: This would not be the first time a spy was caught.
[ 21:47:27] TheDude: Im not sure what exactly i could be spying on right now

[ 21:50:51] GRN|Nathan.Blanc.: Hm. This could've have been faked. One last question. How did you get your hands on a ship of Sirian design?

[ 21:52:10] TheDude: How would i lie when facing heavy fighter
[ 21:53:34] GRN|Nathan.Blanc.: For any number of reasons. This authorisation you sent for transporting prisoners from Luneville still could've been faked.

[ 22:00:08] TheDude: and second?
[ 22:00:11] GRN|Nathan.Blanc.: Secondly, you are to reapply for permission to transport those prisoners. That application has to go through a communication

Bonjour,

The patrols of Burgundy and Dauphine, which I did in the last two days were calm, no signs of hostile activity, except for the occasional rookie raiding wings. Said wings were removed to prevent them from doing damage.
I encountered a GMS vessel in Dauphine, but as expected the ships cargo hold was clear of anything that could do harm to the kingdom.

For the crown!

Yesterdays first shift started at Dijon Station. After I undocked, I checked for other pilots on duty, which let me to Colonel Giroux. He informed me everything was fine and that he didn't require any assistance, so I started with my own patrol in Burgundy.

When I reached the RNS Beuvray, two hostile contacts appeared on scanners. It quickly became clear they were two Council Agama's, flying under the "[color=#FFFFFF]GAUL|
" tag. Considering I was on my own in a Lynx versus two Agama class fighters, I called Colonel Giroux for assistance. This is when his odd behaviour started. He informed me he wasn't able to provide assistance. Considering he wasn't in a situation that required my help, I was quite surprised by this unexpected reaction. He left me outnumbered, alone, without any valid reason. He even left our shared comm channel, without even asking my status.

Fortunatly, I managed to destroy one of the fighters, "[color=#FFFFFF]GAUL|Gael.Keriadec
" very swiftly, evening the numbers. The remaining pilot, "GAUL|Raoul.Lebraque" was clearly a beginner, because I also managed to let one of my mines blow a big hole in his ship.

After the fight, I contacted Colonel Giroux again, asking for an explanation for his odd behaviour. His response was way out of line, and not something that he would normally say. His behaviour concerns me, and I question his capability as a Colonel if this continues.

Bonjour,

The Commandants Picard and Giroux informed me about the position of two Council Battleships in the Languedoc system, so I moved to the place near the minefield. The traitors did not put up much of a fight and sadly both were able to escape before their destruction. But the damage done should prevent them from using these ships anytime soon.

A Maquis light fighter, that attacked me all the time, while fighting these Battleships was destroyed once they were gone.

To sum it up, the traitors lost a light fighter and had to retreat with 2 heavily damaged battleships, while we had no losses at all.

For the crown!

Area of Operations: Dauphine
Other Participants:
Grand Marshall Lilith LaCroix and her ship, the Chant du Cygne
Commandant Pauline Valence
Commandant Aubert Giroux
Agent Garonne

1805 '€“ Long Range sensors of Nevers detected hostile IFF Cruiser Obstinate Marcus with a fighter escort fifteen kilometers out.

1810 '€“ The Grand Marshall, in the Chant du Cygne, arrived as the hostiles closed to within seven kilometers of the planet. The agent Garrone arrived at this time as well.

1811 - The Obstinate Marcus and her escort reverses course and moved at flank-speed towards Planet Tonnere.

1812 '€“ The Grand Marshall, in the Chant du Cygne, ordered us to follow the two while she maintained a defensive orbit above Nevers in case of a flanking maneuver.

1818 '€“ Agent Garonne managed to stop the fighter escort, identified as Renzo Dayson, flying an Agama class fighter.

1827 '€“ Agent Garrone struck the killing blow on the fighter. No pod was recovered. Was ordered to return to avallon and switch to the bomber I have been granted in order to hunt the cruiser.

1831 '€“ Scouted and located the cruiser within the Nievre asteroid field.
