"Just another drink for the lady," asked Willis, gesturing towards the table where Amanda was sitting. The bartender pulled out a bottle of Bretonian whisky and filled a glass, then handed it to Willis.
"There you go sir," stated the bartender, again with his dry customer service smile. Willis turned around to see the Navy pilot introduce himself to Amanda.
"Ian ..." the rest of his name was muffled by a new patron ordering his drink. Willis stood at the bar facing Amanda's table. Well, I suppose I'd better say hello to our guest, he thought to himself. For somebody who would rather spend his afternoon balancing a turbine impellor, the thought of having to be sociable was enough to make this engineer start to sweat.
Willis looked again at the freshly poured glass in his left hand, and compared it to his own half empty one in his right. If there was much difference between Libertonian and Bretonian whisky, it certainly wasn't in the appearence or smell. Willis walked back over to the table and handed Amanda her drink.
"There you go," said Willis, with the smirk on his face he diddn't try to hide.
Amanda watched the navy officer walk over, and put out his hand. She shook it and nodded when he told her his name. "Nice to meet you, I'm Amanda. Rough day huh?" she smiled and nodded at his drink. Amanda looked over towards the bar at Willis shaking her head at the barman's smile 'he needs some adventure' she thought shaking her head slightly. "Anyway, take a seat, Willis will be over soon, hes cool - a good mate from work" She spoke sounding like she was away in thought. It was at this point she noticed the notebook still open on the table and quickly picked it up and put it in her pocket.
"There you go," She took the drink Willis held out for her and raised an eyebrow at his smirk. 'better not go proving me wrong about the good guy thing, I mean I knows hes anti-social, but really.'"Willis, this is Ian Johnson, he looked like he needed company, hope you don't mind?- Ian, Willis." She smiled and took a drink of the new beverage waiting to see what would happen next.
"That should work..." A voice whispered in his mind. "Try it now."
Evan reviewed his notes quickly and took another brief glance around. Everyone seemed to be busy with their own thing, so he produced a small box from his coat pocket containing a tiny black vial and some tools, followed by a small wrist-computer, which he removed the back cover for to expose the intricate circuits. "I'm not sure why you want to be able to do this or why you want me to work on it here, but it'll take a moment." He whispered, as he began to work.

Sims starts reading some of the recent news, occasionally taking a drink and glancing around.
'Another Ale, please.'
After he gets another he takes a drink and checks his PDA to make sure he wasn't needed. And he wasn't right now. 'Good, more time to relax then.', He thought.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Amanda. Rough day huh?"Ian shrugged slightly and gave Armanda a half smile. "Kind of. You see new things every day though..." He joked a bit and looked at the man sitting near before back at her again. "Nice to meet you, too." As she then offered him a seat, he sat down for a few moments.
"Willis, this is Ian Johnson, he looked like he needed company, hope you don't mind?- Ian, Willis." Standing up again, Ian looked at the man sitting there with a checking glance and would nod as soon as he would look over. Ian reached out his and, standing firm while doing so. "A pleasure..." He almost sounded emotionless but then smirked slightly.
Evan paused, looking up from the table again, only to notice someone at the bar nod in greeting. He nodded back, took a swig from the hardly touched glass of ale, and looked back at the wrist-comm he was modifying.
It didn't take much to change it to what the AI had requested, however, and in another moment he was finished with it, emptying a black fluid from the small vial into a tiny compartment he had recently added.
Replacing the covering for the device and looking up again to find no-one looking his way for a split second, he turned over the wrist-comm and put it on, feeling a slight jab as the modification took effect, but he kept the device switched off, taking up his notebook again to write another note. Successfully interfaced. The voice in his head said.
Meanwhile, Evan drained half of what was left in his glass of Ale, staring at the screen, before he shot another look around.

Something in the look Amanda gave him reminded Willis of the countless times his mother had told him to be on his best behaviour whilst growing up. Willis sat up straight and extended his right hand to meet Ian's, and gave a firm handshake.
"Nice to meet you Ian," replied Willis.
Willis looked back down at the table to notice Amanda's notebook and pen had disappeared, presumably hidden away in one of her pockets. The workshop talk would be suspended for the moment it seems.
Willis looked back up at Ian, wondering if he should say something or whether it would be better to let the two talkative ones carry on the conversation. After a short pause Willis decided to speak.
"Well, works been pretty busy for myself lately," stated Willis, "I've actually taken on a full time apprentise. Bright young kid, Catelyn her name is."
Ian sat down again and looked at Willis, frowning.
"What's your job?"
He simply asked and glanced Amanda once before focusing on him again, asking himself in his thoughts what he is on about. He rubbed his forehead and looked at him a bit questioningly.
Willis looked down at the DSE logo embossed on his work uniform, then glanced across at Amanda and smiled. Suppose if you stay filthy people recognise you better, He thought.
Turning back to face Ian, Willis replied, "Repairing and maintaining the lanes, ships and mining equippment. That and a bit of courier work."
"I've actually taken on a full time apprentise. Bright young kid, Catelyn her name is." Amanda nodded, she had seen this girl around - just a new graduate, enthusiastic like most are at that stage. 'It will be interesting to see how long this one lasts she smiled as she remembered Brad, the last apprentice DSE) employed. Amanda looked around the bar again, seeing a few new people that she hadn't noticed enter, and one man playing with what looked to be something mechanical. She watched him for a moment, 'Interesting'.
Amanda shook her head slightly coming back into the conversation around her and grinned as she noticed Willis glance at her and nodded at his answer to Ian's question "Yeah, we both do the same thing really, Lanes and ships and stuff. What about you? Your obviously a navy boy, what department or whatever they have there are you in?" She looked over in Ian's direction, trying to find a clue on his uniform, she shrugged and laughed slightly realising she had no idea what she was talking about, and took a drink.
