Well folks I was just in a Skype convo with Dab and I think I have a location for the Freeport. He has advised me that Igiss will be more inclined to allowing the creation of this base in a empty or an entirely new one.

So I have done some serious research of Sirius and narrowed a good spot for this Freeport. I chose this location because it will incorporate the best diversity of pirate factions that would make use of such a base. I propose adding a new system in between Magellan and Cambridge.

This will surprise many of you because it will seem like one heck of a shortcut, but I did some number crunching and it is not that bad. I can't find any trade route through this region that would greatly effect the balance the economy. There were two thing about commodities I did notice.

1) Artifacts will be made easier to take into Liberty. Which is good. At the 4.83 bull and sell prices for this commodity this will fit with Igiss's newly made smuggling routes. The shorter time should balance Artifacts with Cardimine which sells in 4.84 for close to 2500.

2) Luxury Food will make you 5 million dollars in a one way run from Cambridge to Manhattan that will take roughly 15 minutes. I might point out that traders will be flying past the Grandaddy of all pirate hangouts to do this. If you still don't understand, let me illustrate. A trader would be flying a train full of Grade A beef past a bunch of unlawfuls who may or may not have eaten in the last week. I think we can overlook this because it would make great RP. Besides I haven't been able to isolate a decent return commodity anyway.

Some of you will immediately wonder about diamonds. Dab sure did. Don't worry they buy for 880 on Cambridge and sell for 990 on Manhattan. Nothing is going to get smacked out of whack there. (dabs fear was the proximity to the Omegas but evidently there is already a major rote from there anyway. Hardly worth the extra length to go to liberty and this route doesn't effect Honshu at all)

So I welcome you opinions about this planed location and I want to hear some suggestions for a name for this base. The intention is that this will be a Freeport but if that dosen't fly I want a backup. Tortuga is in the hat but it is a very blatant rip-off. Lets see if we can't find some other pirate ports worth mentioning. Oh while I am at it I am going to put the name Kingston in the hat as well.

I am now off to do more commoddity research for that region so that I can have the buy and sell commodities spreed sheet / chart or whatever put up ASAP.

Sorry for the double post put I figure a map might put this location into a better focus.

the fact why some station is called freeport is cause most of factions can dock there freely...Zoners are neutral, IMG neutral to all except outcasts, but junkers have enemies....so if anyone has junkers as red...they cant dock...thus station isn't a free port..

but instead of that Junkers should really get one large station, like their main scrap facility...

oh and i didn't vote no:P

Junkers only have what, one true enemy? Hogosha.

Compare this to the IMG, who have a Freeport.

I can see it happening, and I can see the Junkers letting folk fight outside, but not inside.

That way no Junker inside gets hurt inside and they can collect the wreckage of the ships that have been blown up outside!

The 'probably hostile' list should be changed to 'dislike' instead.

Anyway, only one of them is unlawful, and they're technically neutral. So, they can still have a pirate's haven!:P

Also, Phantoms don't matter, there aren't enough of them. Xenos don't matter since they won't leave Liberty anyway. Same goes for Hogosha leaving Kusari. They are both local concerns.

Well, Bounty Hunters? Why would pirates want them there anyway?

Believe it or not the BH are not enemies of the Junkers. Mind you a BH dumb enough to go near this place would be in a world of hurt. Just the Hogosha, Xeno's and House Corporations. Two are territory and the last group don't care about the Freeports in general.

Here is a list of Factions I plan to have around the station.

Junkers
Outcasts
Corsairs
Red Hessians
Mollies
Lane Hackers
Liberty Rouges
Outcasts
Gians (maybe don't know how bothered they would be)
Freelancers
Zoners (A possibility but again how interested would they be)

There is one problem.

This Freeport will be bloody disgusting.

Dirty Junkers and their bin-raking. Get ALG waste-disposal here, stat!

I can imagine the Gaians would love the idea.

Essentially it would be a huge recycling plant.

Also, may as well stick in the Unioners too. I don't know about the Kusari pirates, they are pretty local. I'm not sure about Bundschuh either.

Zoners would be there if there was money... but then again, they stick to their own bases.

I'd also stick in GMG and IMG... they are known for shady dealings at times.
