And I suppose that rule was not violated.
Use of F1 in space is officially prohibited so I see a reason for potential ban. SF leaders should take care about this situation.

I agree with Dab that this rule of engagement should be abolished. What if I just want to kill him next time? Do I have to ask his permission? If I asked straight away for money he would've been off down the trade lane while I was typing. As it happened, I first had to hack the trade lane and fire a cruise disruptor to stop him escaping, and while doing that I shot down his shields for good measure. Quite a good move, I thought, and then the transport disappeared before my eyes.
I think players should be free to resolve situations between themselves without being told what to do.
In answer to f2k who said:
Quote:I still think removing F1 is a bad thing as removing it will also remove access to the options menu.
This would only remove the options menu while in space.
Also, about alt-F4 - I don't think this is a safe way of quitting the server while under attack, as the character doesn't immediately disappear. I may be wrong, it may depend on server settings - I'll test it with someone if I get a chance.
Role-played characters:
daedalus - Liberty Navy
bandersnatch - Ruthless criminal possessed by a (huge) alien
Shredder - Small-time Kusari pirate, looking to join the Blood Dragons
"Bounty Hunters. We don't need that scum." - Admiral Piett
Character switching while in-flight has one advantage that if removed would likely create problems. In the event that a ship ends up stuck (asteroids, bases, etc.) sometimes F1ing is the only way to get unstuck.
Freelimits project that contained F1 fix is nothing more than dead now, so there's no stable release with 'limited' F1 menu. The only thing that can be done is removing F1 menu from space, which will make undocking very painful in certain situations.
Only choice I see is to punish those who abuse F1. However, to prove abuse we'll need screenshots.

Which in this case you have the screenshot/proof you need.
Yes, missed that one.
Ok then, I'll probably include a new entry into server rules that will prohibit usage of F1 in PvP engagements for fighters (5 mil fine), traders (5 mil fine) and capital ships (10 mil fine).
