Imagine you are new to this mod. You start exploring, find a jump hole to a non-vanilla system and think: "Lets take a look" ... as soon as you arrive, you get blown into pieces. I bet this happened often.
Even if you played a while and get familiar with the concept of guard systems ... there are so many, you cant remember them all. You could argue that a look into the wiki might help. But for at least some systems there is no line telling about this, and for others you have to read it between the lines. Even if the wiki would be rewritten that it states the status of a system properly, it still takes time to look it up and is unhandy.
Therefore I suggest to place warning bouys ~1k above and/or below any jump hole that leds into a guard system. That bouy is owned by the (guard) faction that system belongs to, so that it shows up in the right color on the scanners. In the infocard there's a text like "WARNING You're about to enter Rho-122, a guard system that belongs to the Faction X" or even shorter without mentioning the faction. Or something like that.
Pro:
- an easy way for rookie pilots to avoid getting destroyed in guard systems (although I know there will be some that dont get the hint - you cant save them all ;))
- for experienced pilots a reminder present in the game and not somewhere outside where one has to alt-tab to
Con:
- some work for the dev team ... but not too much. The bouys are easy to place, and the infocard text would be nearly all the same.
- one Item more on the scanners if you are hostile to the guards ... in the vicinity of that holes. So it would not spam your scanners.
Guys check out the avatars of the 3 guys between me an me.
Almost identical. And they all agree on the same thing.
Must be that conspiracy they are always talking about.
omg could they all be karlottas?
Anyhow...
I think a standard bouy to be placed everwhere could say "Warning! Restricted Area! Dont pass without security clearance!", placed 0.1k awy from a jumphole to the guard system.
The object could be called "Warning" instead of bouy in case dont know about scanning stuff and stuff.
With a little more work for the devs, its could say "without security clearance for *INSERT FACTION*"
Yes, lets also give everyone full maps when they create a new character. Also set it up so they've landed at every station so they can see what sells good where. While were at it lets make one station that sells everything in the game.
Its freaking Discovery. If you want to know what is on the other side of the damn jump hole, go through it.
This is a role play server. Most factions aren't going to put up a sign that says, "HEY LOOK GUYZ THIS IS OUR MOST PROTECTED SYSTEM WITH ALL OUR L33T TECH. DON'T COME IN OR WE WILL PEW PEW YOU."
Not to mention I'd much rather have what is left of our development team spend time on the things that need to be done rather than little **** meant to hold the hands of people too lazy to use the wiki or asking someone else.

/rant off
You know what?
Wouldnt it be frikkin great if you could actually have a good and understandable game experience simply by playing hte game without looking stuff up in a wikipedia?
Here's a question of my own, Why the Hell would SCRA put up a buoy at the Omega-52 enterances where every friend and family member of Jimmy lolwut can find it? We wouldn't since we have our own way of dealing with intrusions, we kill them, either our players or our own internal defenses do.
