Thats just stupid.
And like Hoodlum said a few posts back, there is no point for this "conversation" to be going because what ever Iggis has in mind for the next mod will stay and wont be changed just because of this thread, ya see, thread = pointless.
My guess on battleship crew numbers was based on their size. They're bloody BIG. Look at all those windows! So you have a flying hulk the size of the Empire State Building and only 12 real people crewing it? The dockable NPC battleships have about that many NPCs standing around, not including those on the bridge, engineering, etc.

If only people would realise that it is so much fun to go up against bad odds. Like when myself and Perroc attacked the Rheinland military. We, in our two eagles, took out two bombers and a fighter while being shot by a battleship and a cruiser. Both flown by people who know what they are doing. Still, we killed both bombers and the fighter, and left. Its great to fly against great odds, but its even greater when you pull off a "victory". The presence of the cruiser and battleship was justified as they had a large escort.
Now I don't fly battleships or cruisers. But I doubt a massive over kill victory feels the same way I felt after killing those three escorts with Perroc. Its best to become better at what you do in something smaller, like an Eagle, or a Taiidan bomber.

From your first post here I believe ...
So Joe, lots of roleplay interaction there mate, sure you are on the right server ? Your 'Its my money,
I'll do what I like with it attitude' is a little selfish when it comes to the the rest of those roleplaying here.
Major factions, or most of them, do not allow new members to come straight in and fly a BS immediately.
Thats part of the being here and earning the right within a faction, and actually playing a part of a team.
This is a piece of the major problem, they are available to every PvP fan and his dog, especially those
with little interest in actual RP, save flying a big ship, and being in combat ...

Hoodlum, you are right. But so am I. Nice job with the quote:D, but I use my capship within the boundaries of RP. Others should too. Im not arguing that at all. I dont PvP on this server, only within the boundaries of RP.
The "quote" from another post is very true, I still feel the same way. I want fleet action. And that is why I bought a Merc ID, and a destroyer. Ill sell my ship to a faction if I am in the mood for a fight, or I may just take an escort contract. There's a million things to be done in discovery. You dont need to join a faction to have a capship. My personality type doesnt fit with the "team effort", sorry but it is true, I guess Im a drifter of sorts. There are a LOT of other players out there just like me. We like to move at our own pace, not one set by others. Hoodlum, for you the route you took in the game suited your personality type. You enjoyed joining a faction, and climbing up the ladder. I am happy for ya. Me, I took the trade route. I traded and made enough money to buy my current ship. Got a merc ID. Found my appropriate role in Discovery.
I agree that there should be RP limitations to HOW a player uses his / her ship. I do not agree that a player should be limited on what KIND of ship they choose to fly.
well in my opinion there is sickness in this game. the problem with the cap ships and transporters, is that fighters are actually useless against them.
lets say i am a police in liberty and i want to make sure people don't smuggle stuff, even if find someone with "train" taking drugs, i cant do anything to him with fighter. so therefor i need to work my ass to buy some strong cruiser or what? and since most of the people use cap ships to transfer (and apparently fight), there is no chance in the world for fighter to do anything but support (like what, destroying bombers?).
besides, its also ruin the NPCs in game. an outcast destroyer can just sit and kill every npc ship, without even taking serious damage.
Im flying a fighter now as a bounty hunter and i must say, i feel useless to oppose and enforce (and no, i dont want to fly a bomber, thanks).
p.s
the solution is, remove those ridiculous shields and hulls strength of cap ships.
so the question for, why faction will use fighters against individuals who use battleships?
the answer will be, that a squadron of fighters WOULD be able to take out battleships (and not 1 bomber, which is also kinda funny...).
Honestly, if we start getting to the point where we have the amount of restrictions on cap ships that people are talking about and want to do... Then we need to just remove them.
Edit, the second half of this post was un-neccessary.

Removing caps would remove, i guess, about 3/4 of the players:P
But hey, maybe Vanilla FL didnt have player caps for a reason... Digital Anvil could see into the future...
