Make Hegemon impulse speed to be 15, and make it charging the cruise for 5 minutes. Ye, mini-barge.

That'll mean miners will have to have fighter patrols around.

nope, that means that people will just drop their ore and F1.... change to a faster transport.. and that's all... (they do that now... why they wouldn't do it if Hegemon is even slower!!)

And, while mining... a Bomber can take you dow even with normal speed... Cause Hegemon is BIG!... and easy to shoot at!

Well, anyway, ye, it looks like great fun, when noobs have to grind missions in starfleas and those who was around to mine for a year has 10+ battleships.
I concur. I was given a million credits by a Corsair Huntress flying by Manhattan. I felt very intimidated by the larger ships and longed to be one of them, so got myself an Advanced Train and then a Bounty Hunter Battlecruiser and started my own faction. But that's a story for another time.

Money should be easy to make. Capital ships should be between free access and SRP, so it's proven the person buying it can RP and understand the rules before being allowed to purchase it.

Trading and mining should be a choice. Not a chore.

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

FOR THE LOVE OF SCRAP.. GIVE US BACK OUR HOLEY RUSTED METAL ADMINS!!

The ore mining is far more profitable than scrap was. Junkers and ALG weren't making huge profits off of scrap. Well not in comparison to all the various types of ores. Scrap makes profit but that is not our only reason for mining it. I remember disco before mining and I did plenty of trading. Now a days I would trade when I got tired of mining. So for me mining scrap was fun, enjoyable and a profitable alternative to trading.

The point is - they won't haul the ore in heges, they'll have to sell the ore to someone around or swap to transport. Ye. But when pirate is already here, he won't be able to just f1, thus escorts, patrols and all.

I know that lolwuts will be lolwuts and just f1, but silent traders are also lolwuts and no mining = just more of them, so yeah, that'll probably do as much good as turning the mining off.

You should probably make a separate thread to petition for that. The Admins will never see it buried under all of the other messages. And I support it, as well as the return of mining.

Mining systems present central hubs for players to interact. I can go on my TBH in Theta or Delta all day, planning on nothing but top-notch RP, but frankly, there aint jack out there.
Wheras on my Molly or IC or BMM, i can go to Dublin, be assured of finding other players, and, even though i have to be constantly prepared for PVP, will still find lots of good RP, even if it is simply with other factionmates or with neutrals.
Add a mining spot in the OMicrons. Add a mining spot in the Sigmas. Add more, and make their paths cross or converge. Tune the system so players cross paths with other players as often as possible in pursuit of whatever, be it profit or pvp or war or rp. Encourage blockade running by putting profitable routes straight through them. Encourage double-diplomacy by putting profitable routes from a nation to their enemy. Encourage piracy by putting a pirate base near the middle of a highly profitable route. Encourage lawful activity by encouraging piracy. Encourage conflict by giving both sides a reason to be there besides the conflict itself. Do anything and everything you can to encourage and force player interaction, but for the love of all that is holy, dont do this.
Mining is nice. Really nice. We all love it, and as much as we complain about it, it simply means that we care enough to want to make it better.

Quote:[20:44:51] Chevalier (Tomas): Since I'm in dorms and can't see what's happening in space... is there are many traders around?
[20:47:34] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): well let's say
[20:47:36] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): Kusari and Rheinland
[20:47:38] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): are f(censored) alive
[20:47:39] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): (sun)
[20:47:44] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): and Dublin is still alive
[20:47:49] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): but other systems are MORE alive
[20:47:59] Chevalier (Tomas): My Gods...
[20:48:01] Chevalier (Tomas): Kusari...
[20:48:04] Chevalier (Tomas): Is alive...
[20:48:09] Chevalier (Tomas): It's something magic.
[20:48:28] Chevalier (Tomas): It's been my dream to see Kusari alive...
[20:48:31] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): ye
[20:48:32] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): Kyushu
[20:48:34] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): Honshu
[20:48:36] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): Tokyo
[20:48:40] Chevalier (Tomas): I'm so happy (crying)
[20:48:43] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): like real activity
[20:48:49] Блъдляйк (Bloodl1ke): not a passing ore hauler

You see? It has pluses! Finally, Sirius is alive.

I have an offer...

STOP COMPLAINING for a bit (two weeks, perhaps). Let's make a test, how it all will be moving without power-mining, and later make an decision.

Edit: Mining isn't nice. Since it has destroyed the true beauty... traffic...
