lolwutters will stay coming no matter what..

Really, I do like mining back on.. for the sake of RP. Dont nerf it as it is not needed. You will just have to deal with lol wutters... There is no sultion to a great thing such as mining, which people do rp.

Only a few lolwut, which is in any case.

Be it NY, Dublin, or any other system for that matter..

You know those pirates that say "1 mil or die'... These are lolwuts to. There is no rp in saying 1 mil or die only, and then kill a trader for not paying.

Biggest lolwut problems: Piracy.

Miners get accused and stopped in general: Yes.

Pirates that dont effort RP: No.

So really, Turn mining back on, or buff trade routes so we actualy get simular profits

Sure that wasn't just an InRP insult?:P"Go back to the scrap fields, junker"

Since when do RP and profit rely on each other? If anything the inverse is true, quality of roleplay declines as more money comes in.

I agree, but I have a feeling the code for that would be pretty intense. As far the hege nerf/running silent miner problem I think we should consider removing or nerfing the essex and hood instead. Then create a line of mining ships of varying capability. For instance, have some that have poor maneuverability but compensate for it by having either good hold or firepower and go from there down to a few smaller mining ships, unlike the current drop from hege to dacite. Then we have a nice new group of ships for people with different mining styles, less BS for them to run to, and more profits that are governed by player interaction.

No, most of it has either been via Skype or non RP channels.

If you worry less about what other people think your faction should be doing, and more about what you think your faction should be doing, you will probably have a better faction out of it.

Exactly what good would removing the Essex do? BAF have their hands full keeping merchants away from it anyway.

It's vice versa. At least when you make your firs billion - quality of roleplay increases if you can spare your real life time on it too, and not on mindless grinding.

Because It's real life time that gets into equation. Actually, with mining off, and trading not buffed, I can even expect Sirius credit black market appear, since it might be more time-effective to find a job and pay some schooler 200 euro for a few billions SC then to spend few weeks of your life getting some virtual stuff, when you just want to have fun and enjoy the game in the role you have chosen for yourself. (Im NOT saying here Disco should look like DoD, no way)

I am sorry, but this is not a text based roleplay... When I am on Samantha Silverfall, I always rp, and barely ever get in combat, even thou I could afoord dieing 20 times in 5 mins on ammo ea, varys chars, even can make a new char if I wanted.

Its a space roleplaying game, where one actually needs to be in combat on occasion, which also happens with me, when it is needed.

If you dont like that, go play text based irc chat roleplays, or jave chat.

What you seem to forget is that quality roleplay comes in both text based and actions. Text based roleplay gets followed by actions, and the quality with pirates I usually get is not much on my trader, but it is much on my liberty navy char.

RP and profit rely on each other because: You have to have money to make a new char, build it up quiackly, pay ammo for all chars ea.

You dont believe me? Look at most of the indie rogues/outcasts/hackers freelancer IFF'd pirates (which shouldnt imho even eb allowed.) Take the tradelanes numerous times, with different pirates.

5/10 will say something around: 500k or die. In that direction. No effort on RP, such as. "I got a winner... Now stop your vessel, and prepare to be boarded for your cargo' ea...

Power miners/traders... Same thing. You really want to kill of lolwuts? Make sure you kill all ways of making money, and that only th ebest rpers somehow get money... but that will empty server.

Just my 2 cents for now sicne I have been bored all day being one of the few IMG indies online....

This is it, let's close the server.

xD

Dude, with all due respect, as some people already mentioned, this server has been here for 5 years or more, people had real life back then, and they have now.

I spent some weeks, months and years of my life in this mod, and I don't regret it. I think you are missing why really Disco is so awesome. Easy credits is not why Disco is this great, actually I believe easy credits is what expanded disco's problems.

And yes, gentlemen, mining is getting easy credits. I know some people are gonna say that they are special, that they work hard for those credits, that they created a system inside their faction to improve the mining, etc... it's still easy credits.

Mining will be as enjoyable as it is/was, even if they decrease the credits.
