When you say undersized I hope to god you aren't talking about the ships mass......Did that make sense?

While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack

yeh i agree with one thing the battlestars are pretty undersized

hell the things meant to hold 1/4 of a planet full of people kind of like a sleeper ship (sorry if my battlestar knowledge is a bit rusty but either way this aint BSG its feelancer so this is kind of a pointless post really)

and il be damned if they anywhere near the size of the hispagnia

I just tear everything down into three basic Classes, Gunboats Cruisers (inc. Battlecruisers and Destroyers) Battleships (inc. Dreadnaughts, Juggernaut, Carries and Battlestars)

well... if a battlestar would be supposed to be true-scaled in FL, then it would be at least 2 k long. at least 6 vipers would fit in simultaeously into the flight pod... the monstrusity would dwarf the whole former SA dread fleet alone xD

By "Earth" standards, a battlestar is a carrier/battleship hybrid. Houses up to 200 vipers (newest models like the Mercury-class) and at the same time posesses the armor, allowing it to withstand multiple nuke hits. (Galactica took one, but recovered quickly, Pegasus took 5 in drydock and still could jump away and repair)

By FL standards, battlestars are light capships. Not the best armor, reasonable firepower and are small enouh to dodge with. Balanced? imo-yes. They fill a niche between the lightest Osiris and the heaviest ships buyable.

I see five calsses of ships. Gunboats, destroyers (like the Kusari one), cruisers (like the Liberty or Rheinland ones), battlecruisers (very clear - no thruster, has battleship turrets) and naturally battleships. No major differences between them. (while there could be)

Re-sizing a model is a very complicated task in terms of skinning. A new skin has to be created, and hardpoints need to be re-customized. Since the "natural" scale of the Battlestars won't be reached anyway, I don't see a reason to do so.

Well, in this manner a dreadnought needs to have a greater energy output than a battleship. I think we dont need to make uber-sized ships, just tweak the stats and price of it. Make the dreadys bulky and expensive but they should have a purpose to serve and ensure that not many people have it. They must serve some tactical purpose and they should be unhandy and less effective in terms of freelancing when compared to battleships. Also the dreadnought should mean nothing without escorts if its faced a decently skilled wing of bombers and fighters.

Dreadnoughts, are Battleships. Juggernaut is a Battleship. Juggernaut is a synonym with Dreadnought, and Battleship. You are doing the typical mistake I tried to avoid man... Dreadnought or Battleship, only the name differs. No need for improved power array for just Dreadnoughts (Outcast Dread and Liberty Dread), because that's not relevant. More realist would be that each house should have a different power array for it's battleship, and different shield power. Like, the Liberty Dread to have a unique power array, and so on for each Battleship in the game. Not just because a Battleship haves "dreadnought" in it's name it should be better, or whatever. That would be quite nice, each Battleship with it's own thing. Also, if the equipment would be locked on your ship (you shouldn't be able to swap power arrays or shields between battleships), maybe ppl won't just get a ship just because it haves better stats.

try using resizing with FLtools...hard points stay where they are and skin is showed properly...can be used for resizing to certain amount...
