Capships of destroyer class and above possess inherent weaknesses to strike craft which are similar to those of real life capital ships - battleships and destroyers are designed for use against vessels of analogous size and function, gunboats should be the anti-fighter defense craft.

Also, capspam is a bad enough problem as it is.

Those restrictions are to prevent lolwuts from ruining the RP environment with idiotic gun and ship combos. Look how many people abuse zoner and AI IDs, it's disgraceful.


Just because you might have more fun does not make it so for the rest of us.

1: Replace Gallia with the Coalition. >_> Seriously, I can't take fighting frenchies seriously.

2: Make it harder for people to acquire Caps, the Fighter is gonna become an endangered species! D:

3: The Corsair indies less annoying. ^_^ (Don't worry, most of you factionized Corsairs are awesome, it's just your Indies make me wanna rip my hair out.)

As it is, if you don't go after a cap ship with a good supply of bombers, you won't bring down a destroyer. Capships aren't supposed to be easy to bring down.
As Comrade said, we have enough of a capspam problem already.

Some of us have worked very hard to build exclusive factions and worked as hard or harder to keep them going. It's a right that isn't given but earned. Something tells me that your failed attempt at the ORI has much to do with how you feel.

As to indies using faction tech, no. Does it make sense for a Corsair indy to be using Bounty Hunter or even Outcast guns? No, it doesn't! As it is, I'd like to see Zoner guns more restricted but in RP, there is no central governing Zoner body that can control it anymore after the fall of the Zoner Alliance. While just about anyone can use it without asking if they really want to, I applaud the players who still stick with their RP and therefore, there own tech!

Nah it does not, thats the point, doc.
Just imagine a pirate using a pirate transporter and meeting a navy destroyer.
Pirate flies to the destroyer...maybe 10m..so that he has a perfect view into the navy cokpit and tells the lawful that he will enjoy pirating traders in the house space.
And you know what happens when the destroyer reacts in a logic way? he finds himself in the sanction area again. fined all guns and credits or something like that. Does that really makes sense?

Ya the ORI thing has a lot to do with my opinion on this matter, absolutely right.
My point wasnt a bounty hunter with outcast guns or anything like it. More nomads, phantoms and all the other closed one faction IDs being opened for independent players as well.
Concerning one needs to "earn" being in such a faction...take for example the wilds...they are attacking transporters in their gunnies with about one sentence of RP. If you attack them with something adequate for the job they are either running or die miserably. Not much or good RP talk. So what exactly are terms of reference to join such a faction?
My point here is for example the phantoms....cool stations, nice looking ships and you hardly ever see one online. Its just like a big waste of cool stuff. Why not giving all independent players the opportunity to use it. Of course the ID should be a bit modified and not just "kill want you want".

Yes, it does. Server rules always take precedent over RP, the same applies here for balance reasons.

Why? We already have enough of a problem with people abusing the current IDs and having poor RP basis for their characters. This is a clear case of quid pro quo - if you want cool stuff, you have to demonstrate that you both know how to and intend to use said stuff correctly.

Impossible to keep objective.

If you gonna make a rule you need to enforce it objectively, every time, everywhere, for everyone.

If you arent gonna do that, drop that rule.

Add civilian class 9 guns-refire rate 2.Turret class 5 refire 2 also.
Add debilitator turret class 5.(only class 4 availabole now)
Put little more color on ships please,i would really like to own black Nephthys...or purple Sabre...or...:nyam:

Yeah I also thought that often.

If feasable, make like a thing with ship paint color, like with you got with the pimpship lights.

Maybe trick the 3d engine by shining a certain color light on a ships hull with a fh setting.

Kinda like everything looks purple in delta, just make that lighting specific for your ship everywhere with a flhook command.
