Now, I'm no expert, but uh, it seems we're using a different version of FLHook then before, so some extra things Cannon might of added to the other FLHook might not be in this one just yet... of course, I could totally be wrong.

A) Setinfos are screwed.
B) I personally just noticed that I dont like the field-depletion. Stops me from powermining to get a Scylla. But that's just me.

Still no drops in Omega-11, at least for Hessians. And we don't really have any other field to go. Or do we?

Really, something should be broken i guess. I mean, it's as good as dead for more than 12 hours already.

Look in your hold. The ore goes directly there now. If that is your issue I made the same mistake.

If this experiment is about the rp issues and how people act you cannot change that. You can only put things in place to curtail the actions and people have to be willing to change.

The problem isn't mining. No matter if you nerf it, deplete the fields, or just plain ol' get rid of it. You have two sides to this issue.

1. Pirates
2. Miners

Miners shoot rocks to earn their credits. Depending on the ore you are mining it takes a long time. Gold in Dublin and Niobium in Taus.

So however long it takes to fill your hegemon or transport, at some point the pirate is going to come and make a demand that may either be reasonable or not to the miner. Depending on the miners attitude about being pirated for God knows how many times since he has been there, he may comply or just flip the bird to the pirate. If he does the latter he splodes.

So, lets look at this scenario. In two hours the miner is pirated lets say 3 times and was politely asked for 10 million and he paid it. That equals 30 million. Now on a hegemon with gold being 10k (at least was) he is now before he ever finishes filling his hegemon is at a loss for 3 million.

27 - 30 = (3)

You see now why miners get upset. They cannot even play this game and enjoy for the fact they are pirated relentlessly into financial oblivion. Then that miner gets on his pirate and starts pirating miners to make up for his own losses.

So you see, the problem is not the mining, it is a bunch of people who, because of the rules they can pirate someone this way, without any thought about the other player and their enjoyment of a GAME.

I have said this before and I will say it again. EVERYTHING on this server has been balanced, nerfed, or just taken away with the EXCEPTION OF PIRACY. Until those who run this server recognizes this as the true problem we will always be talking about this.

Piracy is good. I do not mine being pirated, but I would hate being pirated relentlessly over and over again and not being able to just play this game.

Oh wait. I should just get an escort. That is always the solution.

One thing crossed my mind, tho I believe it's somebody else's idea:

What about rebalancing Hegemons around 30 speed, no thrusters, and cruise of 250, like a barge, then giving them huge cargo holds (4800 or more?) and making them more like they are in Vanilla, a stationary mining vessels, equipped for long stay in deep space? Something like 800K or more of Armor, even more batteries, and such? It'd stop miners hauling freight in Heges, pretty much forcing them to either sell it or transfer it to their own hauler (which seems impossible now, with the F1 drift implemented), while they'd be compensated by larger cargo holds, enabling them to hoard more of their product for their customers, the haulers?

Speaking of F1 drift.

As one wise man said: "Not fanny. NEED BACK NOW".

I mean, when it's just some ships, it's np, but when it's a barge in guard system and you find it 40k up, it's pain.

Piracy sucks. it happens[d] in real life. Get used to it. Get yourself in a group or get some escorts to protect your shipping or mining operation. if you are mining alone, you are simply carrying a sign that says "Pirate me!"

hegemon shouldnt be nerfed. if anything they should get a cargo nerf, lets say to 2020 (buff armor to balance)

hegemons need to be able to run. having a barge like propulsion system is no good. the hegemon will be way to vulnerable to piracy. just dont do it.

I agree.

In addition we could do with a total clean up in this forums. Scratch everything that is more than 3 month old. Bring back only what is truely valid - or important.

The forum "roleplay", deals, negotiations etc. overshadows the game itself - and that is harmfull for any newcomers. Not only mining, but also trading is screwed by peculiar deals, claims and regulations made by the different factions - leaving the Wiki totally obselete.

No regulation should be valid AT ALL unless the Wiki clearly specifies it. It is the only way to communicate such "rules" - in here we simply drown in information.

The old-timers in this forum needs to recognize, that the game will die, if it is made impossible to play without being a forum-nerd.

The in-game should be the focus of everything - not this forum.
