Personally, I wouldn't time jump anywhere. As sad as it seems, every time period in any country has its sorrow.

Though for a short time of happiness, the Wales 2005 Grand Slam against Ireland in Rugby Six Nations at the Millennium Stadium.

If I had to go back in history... 1550~ Japan most likely. But I'd rather go forward for about a thousand years.

He wasn't saying Japan has a fetish for Japanese chicks, he was saying he has one.

I was commenting on the fact that he answered the question 'Where would you go in history if you could time travel?' with 'Japan'.

Don't be ridicilous. You'll just end up floating in open space when you come out of the warp, and then you'll immediatly freeze to death.
That can't be what you want.

Suck me boy |-8 Japan has several fetishes, I can prove it.

But ye, on topic, I'd warp to feudal-Japan.

' Wrote:Lets presume that we have a time machine, where would you go? What would you do? Why do you want to go there? This is just a sort of question that I asked myself for a lot of time.

Can I take the whole town of Grantville back to 1632 with me? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1632_(novel)

Or maybe the town of Nantucket back to 1250 B.C.? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_in_the_Sea_of_Time

How about December 6th, 1941 - with the USS Nimitz tagging along? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080736/

Or maybe March of 1864, without the AWB baggage? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guns_of_the_South

The issue that most people don't fully think through is when and where, and social status. If you go back to ancient Rome, for example, if you're not part of the ruling class, you're in a world of hurt. And let's face it - the middle ages really sucked. That's why the SCA tries to recreate them as they should have been, not as they were.

So thus, if this is a one way trip, you need to prepare. If you're going back to any time in the 19th or 20th century, it'd be fairly easy to have some kind of reference book already prepared, so that you can have future stocks or for that matter, sports events for wagers. Got all your immunizations up to date? Including for those things that modern medicine has already eradicated?

Going back as a simple observer, or as a world conqueror? If the latter, then depending upon the time period, adequate armament is a must.
