Quote:DHC could only trade with Kusari because of the stupid rep-ninja the admins refused to lift (tho' we asked for that 3 or 4 times) so nobody was interested in joining DHC
Until such time as the repninja was resolved, you could have used secondary ID's (in your case, the trader ID.)
But this is moot. I liked the DHC website. And you were the only faction I ever saw that actually faced realisitic consequences by flying a payment of 150 mil credits in credit cards to another faction's base.
At first I thought you just became lazy and dun wanna mess with indies, but after this explanation:
' Wrote:Why? Here are some reasons:
- Rheinland sucks
- activity went down the drain after the mining was nerfed
- I screamed and screamed at the admins to un-nerf Daumann and nothing happened. I got tired
- Rheinland sucks
- spending all day trying to reason with indie lolwuts who don't give a damn about RP it's no fun
- 99% of the miners in Rheinland have a Kruger ID so there was nobody for us to recruit
- nobody gives a damn about trading, as we saw from the last OSC contract when one dude did 90% of the hauling (sorry Nille, I really am sorry for this)
- Rheinland sucks
- this is NOT about the Hessians. They were the only thing that brought fun and thrills to DHC
- DHC could only trade with Kusari because of the stupid rep-ninja the admins refused to lift (tho' we asked for that 3 or 4 times) so nobody was interested in joining DHC
- the little and low-yield mining fields we had were mined out by Kruger indies and there was nothing we could do about it because we were denied to bounty them. Again, nobody was interested in joining DHC
- did I say Rheinland sucks? I think I did. Maybe if a certain guy would have agreed to a "Rheinland Goverment" similar to the Kusari Council things would have been different now, instead of all the activity in Rheinland being split between Omega 7 lolwuts and Hamburg/Bering/Hudson/Texas pew pew.
In short, DHC was dying a slow and painfull death and it was too much for us to withness, especially after all the sleepless nights we've put into this faction.
At one point DHC was the most active trading/mining faction but all changed in a second with the mining nerf. All the new recruits turned out to be nothing but power-miners and they all went inactive. I said it a lot of times and I will say it again: I would prefer the mining gone, but since that didn't happen DHC should have been un-nerfed.
Trading factions should be about making money and you can't go that in a Daumann faction. Brentonian NPC's (gunboats, destroyers and stationary BS's) shoot you down whenever a BMM comes around, the copper we mine can only be sold in Liberty so us using smugglers to sell it there is OORP and nobody wants to mine uncut diamonds 6k away from the hessian guard system.
Thing is I refuse to invest more time and sweat into this faction. We tried it all and we're simply out of solutions. This game should be fun and the fun could not be found in DHC anymore.
Logging ships just to keep the faction active is stupid and pointless so we didn't want to do that or wait for the admin warning.
Thanks for reading my wall of text which was supposed to be a 5 lines post. Thanks to all the people who helped us and worked with us. Sorry to all those who will be affected by this decision. Good luck to anybody who would like to pick up where we left
I changed my mind, all the points you raised here are more or less correct, it really tickles you when you are trying hard for faction, and need a bit of a help from admins, rep changes as such, cause man would think you know the best for your own faction which you are running and playing for a year.
But sadly, such opinions don't get noticed, and are in most of the case ignored. I understand why are you frustrated, but maybe you should have cooled down and then think about disbanding faction.
DHC is great faction, and I always saw you guys as badass dudes in Omegas:D

Come back in a couple of weeks, you'll see things aren't as bad as you feel right now.
P.S: I don't wanna go L2P here, but the only thing you need to safely mine 6k from Hessian Guard sys is an escort who sits next to the hole and CDs whoever that comes out, which buys your miners enough time to safely cruise away... So, that's not really a big issue.
thing is, sitting right next to the hole and doing nothing but waiting for someone to come through is boring. technically it would be better to sit in the asteroid field and have an eye on the scanner and a CD ready as soon as someone peaks out of the hole, but from what I understand DHC was pretty limited in their choice of ships to do so since the radiation in O-11 eats a Dacite faster than a Hessian would take to get into firing range.
As for the faction disbanding: I'm really sorry to see it, but I actually hope the current version of the mining mod is not final (because it's rubbish - and by that I am not talking about the profits/techniques) and in that case your decision would have been too early =/

' Wrote:Well that's not kosher. I know we had our differences, but sorry to see you go.
If any of your people are interested we'll give them a warm home in RepEx.
Thanks for the offer but I'd like to stay away from Rheinland for some time, well except for my pirate.

Yeah those were good times, and Wolfspirit made an awesome job with the website.
It was nice to have finite fields, but also drop prices? This affected Mollies as well. I mean, it was supposed to spread them, not lower miners 20 to 2
