Recently, the Corsair bounty board has been shut down due to lack of funds. This has been resolved and it will open shortly, but in teh meantime the Reavers have already switched sides, and now we're getting shot at with our own guns.
All beacuse pirate factions arent exactly rich.
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
And that's a whole separate issue - NPC faction economies do not exist and their RP expenses are covered by official factions - and more particularly the individual income of their members. That sort of merits some income source outside player activity. Yet it WOULD be unfair both ways, seeing as de-jure indies and unofficials are part of the same entity and deserve the same treatment. Unfortunately, I have a hard time imagining them all sharing the expenses...
Exactly. indies can have the benefits obtained by the official factions, while they don't contribute in anyway, quite the contrary sometimes. I don't say that indies should pay the official factions, but this system could be a possible solution.
I would be more interested in seeing IDs pay out X credits per hour its online and in space.
Nothing too crazy... like 1 mil per hour... or something.
For one.. both Indies and Official factions get paid equally... secondly factions like police, who are under used, could be set to pay more. Thus attracting a few members.
Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust
It would be interesting to implement provided it's finely tweaked first so it won't be abused by the factions and control of the funds tightly controlled by the leadership of the factions so every member doesn't spend their budget.
' Wrote:I can't remember exactly what/when/where the discussion was for this idea, but when discussing rewards / profit for official faction:
- don't have the reward in cash form.
- send it to somewhere that Admins can keep a confidential tally.
- give faction leaders access to that source.
- that amount can be redeemed for things such as free ships or equipment.
This is just a rough concept, though.
OP, it's an interesting idea.
Not bad. Actually a good idea. See if we just talk it through we can come up with something.
My original idea was to create more faction activity and interaction with other factions.
In reality, what benefits are there for an official faction? Not many that is for sure.
Official Factions making money for being Official and no other reason is just stupid.
If we actually had to work for it, ie supplying our market base with a quantifyable amount of goods and set prices that people could buy from, then maybe it would work.
Otherwise it'd be too easy to abuse.
Buy goods from your own base, you get your own credits back, then sell the cargo at another faction's base for maximum profit.
