Vice City verions is enough to have uber graphic, what's need to be done really is:
- Bloom-effect dll hook
- High resolution textures
- Advanced INI tweaks
- ALE editing
About Editing things like starspheres, planet textures and eff. textures are no problem for edit. Same for ini, just need to know what is for. I don't know only how to edit ALE files, looked for tutorials but with no results.
I will try later to mod something like starspheres (wanna edit that first) since last time i've learned about photoshop "how to". When i start, i'll post on other topic proggres.
For all who will try to yell about cheating or something else: FIRST TRIES FOR VANILLA VERSION OF GAME.
What you failed to understand, even when multiple people pointed it out in multiple threads, is that the server crashes with that amount of .ini editing.
Firekiss - the developer of the best looking graphics mod (Plasmafire) in Freelancer modding history. He vanished from the faces of the earth not too long ago, I believe. The graphics upgrades to Plasmafire were discontinued and aren't compatible with other mods or used standalone.

Actually, people figured out how to use the starspheres and various lighting effects from Plasmafire and incorporate them into other mods by .ini editing. I believe he wasnt too pleased with that, so he stopped all development on Plasmafire, took the mod off of the download servers and just vanished. Thats what I heard/read at least

This is easier said than done.
Without any information from Firekiss - the original developer of the enhanced graphics - it'll take a large amount of time to decode much of the mod and make sense of it in order to integrate the graphics into Discovery mod.
Edit: I suppose someone already knows how to do this kind of thing. But do we have someone like this in our community who's willing to enhance Discovery's graphics?
more or less everyone wants it, and if i knew (maybe i do) how to code disco properly id step in and fix the graphics, but sadly, "we cant" cuz some of our members use 16bit computers with MS DOS...
Sorry for that, maybe not pointless, but still comparing how much we get from newer version of ENB-Series with how much frame rates we lost... it needs to be done by other way.
About how to do such edits, i won't have problems with encoding .txm files, problem would be with individual .ini files and, most important, don't know how to edit .ale files in any ways.
And as i said, first i will edit files for vanilla freelancer, however without trying to touch files from client side usage.
Looks pretty nice so far. I'm left wondering though, what's causing the drops in frame rate? Only thing I can think of is that you are trying to use the occlusion? As far as I know it, it will always cause frame rates to hit rock bottom, no matter how much you tweake it.
The original was ENB was added to the mod by me, it never was perfect but the settings where left at values not too heavy for most of the lower end systems still being used by discovery members.
that was a requirment of it being allowed to be released with the mod, aswell as the option of actually installing it or not.
There is no reason not to upgrade it to a later version of ENB though, the one we have now is basic in comparison to some of the newer ones. The pallet texture is one of the main things missing from it.
Reason why i've not bothered with it is really because of the work being done with Freeworlds, that will basically make the ENBSeries mod obsolete, if it's ever released to the public, and it's to my understanding it will be eventually.
