You're also forgetting this is just a game. We have to work more than enough to get what we want "in real life", why should we do the same in a videogame?

Or simply speaking - you want a cap - you work for it, or go find another server, where it is easier to do so.
A month of regular trading - done smart - with the bare minimum of RP, will provide you with enough credits for at least three capships plus equipment. I understand that at 17 a month is a long stretch of time, but do please bear in mind that the people here are trying to create a reasonably logical and fun world, not one desined to be easy.
Basically - get a grip, stop complaning and get to work - it will work faster for you:)
Sorry if I don't feel that shooting rocks for a month. I'm willing to work for a cap, I'm just looking for an alternative that allows me to have FUN while doing it.
Because it is not "just a game" - at least not a pew-pew kill some time'n kill'em all one.
It is a complicated space based interactive MMORPG with elements of a trade simulation and other bonuses over the usual suspects.
Some people do have complicated pleasures, you know.
You do not "have to" work here - create your own server, give yourself whatever cash your heart desires and roam free. While you're here, respect the game.

Then at least don't shoot them alone - find somebody to do it together.
Or - you can not beleive what fun awaits you on some smuggling trade runs - try running sint. MJ from Minesota to Erie while the Liberty and Rheinland battle fleets anihilate each other in Texas. There is fun in moneymaking - you just have to look a little harder:)

Yes, but if I want to roleplay, say a prison liner, why am I FORCED to roleplay something else for a month before I can actually do what I really want to do.
People have reali life, school, work, family, friends and so on. I can't dedicate hours upon hours to grinding just to be allowed to have fun in something else, for those 30 minutes a day that I can actually play.

Prison Liner - $127,232,250 - Used for transporting Prisoners.
If you know your trade runs, you can make that kind of money in a weekend. Surely that is short enough for you. If you don't know them, you probably have not wandered around enough:)

The exact sum was hardly the point. The real point was: since real life limits my actual time in game, I'd rather spend that time doing something fun, rather than griding to be "allowed" to have fun.
For the record, I am one of those who enjoys mining and trading, and I often do it even if I don't need the cash. But if I decide to buy some capital ship soon (I owe none at the moment), it would be a great obstacle to me, so I'll prolly just pass to a fun opportunity due to the fact that the time spent buying it it's not worth the time spent using it.
Ok man - you either understand the concept of "complicated pleasure", or I am wasting my time here.
Do please say thank you to the boys and senoritas who made and continue to make this extremely complicated game possible /I am not one of them by the way/.

' Wrote:So if I'm not trading I'm not Rping? Are you implying that you grind for your cap and then spend all your time in conn with it?
If you haven't noticed I said I make my money 1-2 mil at a time as a pirate. Does that sound like trading to you?
I am RPing my character, and making money that way. Why can't you make money as the character you chose?
Navy or Police? Hunt down criminals for bounties
Bounty hunters or mercs? Bounties and get paid to be escorts
Pirate? Pirate
I don't think you can tell me a single class which can't make money while roleplaying. Yes it might take a while longer than rping a trader, but that's the point. You will actually have to play your role in this game for a while and interact with others, rather than just instantly being in a capital ship.
I really don't get why people think trading and mining is the only way to make money, as I have made hardly any of my money doing that. Yeah, I'm not the richest guy in the universe, but there is no reason a pirate who doesn't even know who he is should be in a cap ship 3 weeks after getting in a Bactrian.
Quote:I missed out on a good fight though
I was about to roleplay and join in
"That's my friend you're shooting! I'm coming man!"
as I was typing that, the other guy blew me up though :\
so it came out like...
"That's my friewassdasdaadads"

Understanding it is one. Agreeing and accepting it, is something else entirely...
