Now, to all the people who complain about the loadouts we use:

Let's do a simple math, and compare the "omg imba!!!" Full Nomad-Inferno Katana to one of the most spammed ships ingame: Full Kraken-Inferno Sabre.

Sabre has 7 forward firing slots, plus a 11k core. Krakens do 556 damage per shot on 4.00 refire, and use 504 EPS. Means a full Kraken Sabre can keep a constant fire for about 4 seconds, dealing 15,568 damage.

Katana has 6 forward firing slots, plus a 10k core. Also, note that it can mount only 4 Kl.10 nomad weapons, and the other 2 have to be Kl.9 nomad guns if we want to get the highest hull damage output. So, Kl. 10 refire 4.00 nomad guns do 590 per shot, while using 480 EPS, and Kl.9 refire 4.00s do 475 damage per shot, using 384 EPS, which means a Katana can hold constant fire for also roughly 4 seconds, dealing a total of 13,240 damage.
Now... I mean no disrespect, but I honestly don't see what's there to cry about.

Sabre and Katana/Chimaera have rather very different size and profile.

Btw. During 4.85 development there were quite a few people using this kind of math to compare Kraken Sabre with Salamanca Titan.
Salamaca Titan always came out as a much better ship.

Quote:Iseijin how ever, has some of the best PvPers on disco. If they go on raids and "rape everything", it's not because of the gear they use, it's because of the skill level they've achieved through hours and hours of practice.

Then it's even harder to understand why do they feel the need to mount overpowered equipment.

The pilots don't need it.
Enemies complain.

As a hessian faction leader wrote 3 years ago:
Quote:it just simply isn't fun to fight people in an overpowered ship. No satisfaction comes from it, cause anybody could do the same thing really. I prefer overpowering opponents by skill than by using a broken ship

=======================================

Quote:Be sure if the same people flying Iseijin Katanoms now, start flying Codie Werewolfs for a month around Liberty, people will start crying about Werewolf being OP as <yeah>.

We actually used this as a test method the first few months after 4.85 release, but rather the other way. If people complained about something being really bad, a group of developers would fly that for some time and then propose changes.

=====================================

I don't see any reason to going into personal accusations, even less so to making them the main argument.

Complaints are a fact of life.. blow up someone in a pupal goddess arrow, you will get complainants directed at you. Look for QQ, you will find QQ. Look for fun, you will find that too.

I saw today a Kusair GB with Nommie Guns only, which is already good enough to take out a Noob-Cruiser alone. But is this really necessary to use only Nomad GB Guns? They are really one of the few Turrets with OP Damage, Speed and Energy.

A little Notice: I tested on my own server a Scoprion Gunboat with only Nomie Guns. I killed one of my friends with his siege Cruiser two times.

I thought Aoi have a 50/50 Rule?

A) We dont use scorps, we will never use scorps. That is the Das Wilde's thing.

B)
Quote:Equipment rules on hunters have been scrapped with Dave's departure.

People will always find a reason to QQ. Dave tried improving the faction in a way to avoid negative feedback, but with all the negative feedback taken into account when trying to fix things, things broke. Hunters were nerfed to normal levels, he got aggravated and there were raids every day.

We are going to try working on giving our hunters, the people who go out and kill humans, the means to do so, and inspire fear that way. We are going to stop raiding all the time and concentrate on a deeper RP aspect in regards to hunters, to try and balance that out.

We have made the decision though, that when **** needs to be raped, **** will get raped. That is what hunters are meant to do. (Hunters are the ones who go out and attack things, do all other sorts of nastiness, and thus of the 113th a reason to exist, as well as throwing suspicion away from them.)

C) There is a reason why I, personally, have a full nom gunboat. When you fly through a system and everyone and their dog and their dog's dog is after you, screaming "OMG WILDE KILL IT KIL THE WIDE!" You need an equalizer.

Then you come to the chicken vs egg argument...

If you had normal loadout and met a GB they wouldn't maybe feel the need to call 5 friends because they had absolutely no chance against you.

Tried that, they settled for 8 friends that time. (I was in a GMG fighter with GMG guns RPing as a GMG patrol fighter that got lost in the omicrons.) OMG WILDE KILL IT!

EDIT: Also, I could tell you about the time I got shot by 2 solie ossies, 1 bomber, and 3 fighters with me in a civilian arrow (I was sitting still and died instantly).. but I wouldn't want to bore you.

' Wrote:Chopper's question still stands.... what is the RP reason for using those listed overpowered gun/ship combinations over the more obvious not overpowered ones?
The main RP idea behind Iseijin since as long as I remember was - More undercover activity on 'Lawful' side (A.k.a. Trappers), and more visible activity on 'Unlawful' side (A.k.a. Hunters).

This way, Kusari would start to believe unlawful side is being slowly infected by Nomads to strike the lawful side, which would both distract them from lawful infectee and also give the 113th (i.e. Anti-Nomad division of KNF) more power and influence over the whole house... Call it a 'Silent infiltration' if you like. That was the basic idea ever since Iseijin was created, as far as I know. It's pretty much pointing fingers at a bird out the window, so you can use the distraction to mess something up inside the room without anyone noticing. Later, a couple of cases occurred like my Shugotenshi Char, which started as KNF, then became a member of 113th, and after they suspected him, he turned Hunter and now operates only in edge systems of Kusari... But even him alone, risks blowing cover of the whole 113th (While some of the lower ranking 113th are actually not infected), and that is why I have to be careful when flying that char.

From an InRp logical point of view, why should a group risk exposing themselves by giving out clues about their existence, when they can simply expose their members from the "other end of the gun" and both blame -them- for Kusari's infection, and also distract others attentions from what they do "behind the curtain"..?

---
Also, to correct your point, the first Iseijin leadership (Exile and the 2iCs at that time) never put any tech restrictions regarding any of the gear Hunters used. Actually, the first wave of Nomad-Inferno Katanas were set up during the early days of Iseijin, when Exile still had full power over the faction. The restrictions were added later, due to a series of complaints from you and a few others, which to be honest, didn't help with people getting "raped" less... Which again, proves my point about skill level of pilots overruling the gear they use when it comes to Hunters in Isejin.

Also, to counter yours and Chopper's argument about Iseijin gear being the "OPest of all" on disco, I'm just gonna throw in a link... Don't know your opinion about that loadout, but when flying that char, I just point and laugh at Iseijin gear!
(And funny thing is... Suncannons ~= Natters, so ]bd[ has access to something OPer than Iseijin, why no one cries about that? Simple logic - Cause it's open use and it's not like a kid pointing at a candy and crying cause he doesn't have one himself.)

I really didn't want to post here, as i don't have a problem with the faction or it's loadouts. However, saying "I fly alone and I have many enemies, thus I use uber equipment" is just meh. My 2 more cents.

What is the reason for removing the 2 guns per ship rule that Rheinland Wilde as well as AoI first started with?

Das Wilde never started with that.

Aoi only ADDED that because people like you bitched about it.

We've since decided we don't give two shakes of a rat's ass, and removed it.
