the Sirius Sector - a super-cluster of stars about 500 light years away from Sol.

Realistically, it's already been seen....some 300 ingame yrs ago.
We can mess with distances for the sake of RP can't we? :P

We already know.

The Colonial Remnant backstory Wrote:Earth'€¦ was found... Or to be correct, the remnants of the blue planet once sparkling with life were found. The system was devastated by some form of explosion. Ship wrecks laid everywhere, devastation ran rampant wherever the eye could see. They found a wreck of a particularly large ship, which turned out to be similar to the one they got to their own colony with, probably a more advanced version of the sleeper ship prototype. The initial survey revealed remnants of computers, with data indicating that some humans survived this disaster. They were taken back to be analyzed using the Colonial Military computers. Coordinates to which the sleeper ship navigation computer had been plotted were retrieved, and presumed to have been the destination of the ones who might've actually managed to get there. The discoveries of Earth, and the coordinates of the unknown sector were classified, kept in but a small circle of the knowledgeable, and interest for it gradually wore off.

Why? I mean what difference will it make? Besides the Colonials used to say something about the ones left behind I think they are fairly aware that sol is kapoot

Wiki says it's 500 light-years.

It's not about Sol. It's about Cryter. The home sector of Colonial Republic. Due whatever disaster they were forced to leave sector... and leave many people behind... because Sleeper Ships haven't enough space for all of them.

Extended intro is stupid any way. It makes no sense in perspective of the actual events that played out with in the campaign. I don't get why it's decidedly discovery canon when it was scrapped by DA.

But then again, not a lot of the decisions in regards to story around here have been that great any way.

I don't know, I think the extended intro has more to do with the events of the campaign than the short intro does. I mean, the short intro talks about this war that took place 800 years ago and sets the stage for why we're in the Sirius sector, but it ends with that "but we will never forget" line that always confused me, given that it certainly seemed like everyone in Sirius has forgotten about the Coalition/Alliance war.

At least with the extended intro, it introduces the bad guys who show up in the campaign, although their reason for being at Earth (given that they were supposed to be a "trap" in the Sirius sector, I thought) isn't really given.

I was thinking of making a Zoner Juggernaut to act as some kind of Sleeper Ship. Then, I wanted to RP if sending it back to Sol, but then I remembered it's dead :/
