No flame intended. I don't like the idea because of the reasons the other mentioned. If I'm going to roam, for example, through the omegas for hours before having an encounter....where's the fun?

Id like it to be more of a challenge to find people, or to have a nice suprise when im flying along (Or maybe even a bad one!), but not to the degree you describe, saying theyre in a house is just too vague.

if you are looking for enemies try to contact him. if he dun wants to be found search for him.

Is metagaming in this way really a bad thing? It might lead to ganks and unfair play, however it still leads to player interaction which, quite frankly, I don't see enough of outside of liberty/the super-populated systems/omicrons/etc. If you're complaining about this kind of metagaming whilst in these places, you should probably consider moving out.

I'm not sure about other people, but my opinion is simply that any player interaction is better than no player interaction. Hence, my vote. Yes you can talk to them, but in the end this will still have a negative effect on the amount of player interaction we see on the server.

I remember being in Alpha & watcing a Corsair fleet amass & about 10 minutes before all out war, pilots were popping up all over the place. Is this meta gaming, or just players looking for fun?
I think in this scenario it was players trying to have fun, but all chance of a surprise attack were utterly lost.
On balance I can sympathise with players wanting a war.

I have a good friend in notorious pirate group who said every time he went on, within 5 minutes all sorts of Navy & Police ships would log on.
To me this is an abuse of Chat.

This isn't an easy Yes or No debate, but on balance I side with reducing Chat's reporting facilities.
TLAGSNET would still be in operation, enhancing the role of Police RP.

If this can be toggled on & off, I think we should try it out.
