As Crateria mentioned, the Phantoms are an NPC faction, at least according to a couple other more experienced players who've told me, since I've never seen the NPC Phantoms for myself.
SPOILER ALERT! I've heard that there is a jump hole somewhere in Omicron Alpha that leads to a Phantom-controlled system, possibly Omicron-82. I rarely visit Omicron Alpha and have yet to see that jump hole. Also, I've heard that the Phantoms are tougher than Nomads.

All of the factions I mentioned in my first post are NPC factions. Only two are also player factions: Phantoms and KNF, though most or all of the others have player factions that represent them, but use other tags. For example, SF and QCO both represent BAF, but use [SF] or [QCO] in their names, not [BAF].

I took a look at the entry for Queen Carina's Own in the Faction Status Thread.
The sentence at the end of the first paragraph leads me to believe that QCO has replaced Queen Carina's Privateers.
I would just like confirmation that QCP is no longer an independent faction, and then I will add QCO and remove QCP from the list and upload the updated version.
Someone who knows authoritatively please advise.

Benitez, [CLR], (DE) removed from list as they are either unofficial factions, or no longer active so far as I can tell.
QCO replaces QCP.
Please advise of any other changes to keep this list current.
I am making no attempt to include unofficial factions, since they far too frequent and fleeting to keep track of.
So if it doesn't make AC Merc's list, it probably isn't on this one.

Of course, the resulting sanctions from Hoodlum for Hogosha docking at a Junkers base (as if we could) would make that party really expensive.:rtfm:
The Black Dragons have at least five active members (including our leader), but we're not official yet, so I guess we'll have to wait to be added to the list.:unsure:
Regarding Benitez, today I saw their leader, at least two experienced members and two new members, so they are at least five in number.

You may be the only person I've ever met who is more of a stickler for detail than I am.
I'm not sure if that is an insult to us both or something else...
Anyways, once again you pointed out my error...sort of.
Benitez were put back on the list already, but my edits did not list that as a change.
My edits now reflect that correctly.
As to the Black Dragons, generally I am only including player clans that have made AC Merc's official list, with a couple of exceptions.
For new clans, when they make AC Merc's list, they'll be added to this one.
Once I notice it, anyway.
In other news, I am gratified that people are finding this service useful, judging from the number of downloads.
I will keep trying to keep it current...please post corrections/improvements/additions/deletions in this thread to make it easier for me...and quicker for you to get the most politically correct current version. [Perhaps the one and only place in the universe where politically correct means something positive and useful.]

Revised the legend.
Some cosmetic changes made on the player clan side of the list.
I finally spelled diplomatic correctly at the top of the list.
After 6 weeks I caught it myself, no thanks to Juan.:P
