I was contacted by a 3rd Assault wing Gunboat about a pirate group lounging about the lanes... I undocked from Manhattan were I hooked up with a 3rd Assault wing fighter, [font=Lucida Sans Unicode]3rd|Tom.Mason. We proceed with haste to California.
I gave them a warning to leave the lanes ,which to our amazement, complied.
Afterwards, they left but came within 13k of us. It was not enough, then Vice Admiral Stephanie Gray came and took command of the situation, for us to assure the safety of ships passing through the lanes. Some of them began to talk nonsense about the situation. We assumed they had recently taken Cardamine and are currently high.
Vice Admiral Stephanie Gray deemed it necessary to remove these addicts for good. She ordered us into attack positions and it soon began...
One of the pirates got destroyed earlier in the skirmish: <.>
Soon a gunboat appeared as mentioned above, which also got poofed in a matter of minutes: <.> <.>
Next target was called at the Spatial, which killed himself in an attempt to take himself with us: <.> <.>
The lone figher was left for the Vice Admiral to finish off: <.>
We were preparing to leave until a Hacker Gunboat showed up, he too didn't manage to evade our wing and got poofed after a couple of minutes: <.> <.>
After the battle, the Vice Admiral explained how she effectively picked the targets, how she managed to prioritize which targets where most dangerous, and how in some cases it is better to minimize your losses for use in future skirmishes.
I personally want to thank you for this promotion and Vice Admiral Stephanie Gray for the first lecture in leadership.
For Freedom and Justice,
Lieutenant Commander Remus Sius
Two LSF Agents and a Dreadnaught tried to confront these ships... Sadly the two LSF Agents were destroyed in the first skirmish: <.> <.>
I took command of the situation for awhile and ordered the Captain of the LNS-Whisper.of.Liberty, to retreat to the other side of the ****** JG. It took awhile before reinforcements arrived in the form of:
[LN]-LNS-Valiant (Gunboat w/Commander Angelina Dimitrova on helm)
BNG|LNS-Devastation (LABC w/ Captain Hawkings on helm)
Cmdr Dimitrova docked out of Juneau and tried to convince the ships to return to Minor. Most of them retreated except one (OAF|Ens-Fearless).
Cmdr Dimitrova opened fire on it. I told the capital ships to wait at the other side of the JG before jumping in. Without realizing it, Cmdr Dimitrova managed to single out one of the Osirises...
I quickly took option and asked to permit the capital ships to jump. She quickly agreed and soon we were pounding the ship to dust. <.>
Reinforcements also came afterwards:
[LN]-LNS-Cloverfield (Dreadnaught w/ Vice Admiral Stephanie Gray on helm)
[LN]-LNS-Durango (Dreadnaught w/ Commodore Christina Robinson on helm)
Aleesha.Cooper|36th (Bomber)
Then an Osiris (OAF|Cpt-Andrew.Rush-R) appeared.. I was suprised that it wasn't aware that it's little buddy was destroyed. It shouted a couple of times, "Liberty vessels, need assistance with Nomads?, to which all of us ignored.
Cmdr Dimitrova tried to make it leave peacefully as it was cooperating... But Vice Admiral Gray gave the order to shoot the ship as we can't allow the ship of that size to leave without consequence. <.> <.>
After that, the remaining Order forces didn't mount a counter-attack. The Durango and Cloverfield made sure to scare them away.
For Freedom and Justice,
Lieutenant Commander Remus Sius

Talmont here, reporting in.
Well, I'll give you one thing about the Navy. Dull it ain't.
I'd no sooner powered up that bullet-magnet of a thing you call a fighter then someone was knocking. Contact turned out to be an Outcast Sabre (Transponder: Genevieve.Tigressa [Sabre]) Scans for life signs came back positive, more so then they should've done.
Second person on board was *Talmont checks a sheet next to the transmitter* Buggered if I know. Some copper. Of course, halfway through trying to convince this addict not to haul his incompetent tail end off to Malta, another turned up (Transponder: Melissa [Tridente]) and turned my ship into a nice little fireworks display.
Haven't reported that back to the Mississippi yet. Call me old fashioned, but they'll get it in their own time.
Genhy... Genevi- How the hell do you say that? Regardless, the one that hadn't decided to play cowboy was decent enough to continue the negotiations from my pod. Didn't even tractor me in. Right decent lad. So, there was an exchange of credits for this LPI lad, and he and I had a nice chat about the virtues of getting oneself captured until the secondaries' turned up.
Hauled him back to the cafeteria and me to Fort Severn. Wonder who got the better end of the deal?

Talmont here.
Bit of an interruption to the training program last night.
I was called away from Fort Severn to assist some of our lads with pirate difficulties in California. Place is a damn nest of them. By the time I'd had a shield decent enough to withstand a spit ball tacked on the fight'n was well and truely underway. Even encountered a, presumably pirate, vessel (Transponder: it's_showtime) [Spatial]) sitting on the lanes on my way into the field. Being the decent sort of bloke he was, he legged it, and led me straight to the rest of our forces.
The whole thing was a bit o' a furball. Didn't help when additional Indians started showing up. At least it gave the asteroids someone to model their flying after, aye? I initially moved to engage a Freelancer Sabre (Transponder: Calm.Snake) but switched targets to one of the Indian Vessels.

Let's be blunt and say that armour was a waste of time. I lost most of self-repair resources early in the fight, when I was fired upon by a station. Additional reinforcements including a Gunboat (Transponder: 3rd|LNS-Assault1) [Spatial]) were scrambled, but by then I was sucking space. Thank god for escape pods.

Hale here.
Just a quick message to express my gratitude to Lt. Commander Joshua Ashfield, Recruit Lachlan Talmont, 3rd assault wing fighter pilot Tom Mason, and 3rd Commander(?) John Xiger. Without your excellent support, the engagement in the south Whitney field would have gone rather less well than it did.
Mr Talmont, to add something to your report, Calm Snake was destroyed by a combination of Ashfield's mine, and my gunfire, in a fairly unexpected manner. The Arapaho's sabre was also taken out by an LSF agent in that same engagement, and Fantasme gave me something of a run for my money, but eventually also was destroyed.
The gun-cam files I recorded during the engagement were rendered unreadable by the damage my Guardian sustained from Fantasme.
In short, good work to all those I mentioned, and also gratitude to anyone who flew into that mess.

Talmont here again.
Well, what a night.
First things first, the earlier report's been fixed up to sync with Fl. Adm. Hale's. Should be good an' in order now.
I've also finished off that damn enlistment paperwork, and ran the last few sims (Thanks to Commodore Robinson for getting that machine going. Two recruits 'ave been locked in it in as many days.). Imagine systems'll be registering me as fully qualified now.
With all that nonsense out of the way, I got stuck into patrolling. Barely left Ontario before runnin' across someone hauling Blood Diamonds. (Transponder: Frazzledragon) [Spatial]) He told me that he'd pulled them from a wreck. With the number on board, I was willing to believe him. Still, the law's the law, so I agreed ta' escort his to Manhattan to hand the stones over to the LPI.
Converstaion Log File Reference:PR-LT#011 And Manhattan's about where things got messy. Evidently the local commander's couldn' be bothered reading a damn file (Frazzledragon's records say he's registered as a Zoner pilot.), an' insisted I'd just dragged some Corsair into Manhattan Orbit. Sometime 'round here I was called a corrupt pig. Really hurt my feelings too. Didn't hurt me anywhere near as much as 'dragon though, who was fired upon by a nearby siege cruiser in direct defiance of orders (Transponder: Liberty_ashley) [Siege Cruiser]). My thanks ta' the LNS-Providence for trying to maintain some degree of sanity. With all the ships around Manhattan docking control must've been having fits.
Traffic File Reference:PR-LT#013 Good thing the Commodore showed up when she did. Apparently while I was tryin' to stop a bar-brawl amongst Cap'ns, an Outcast Tridente had slipped on by. Thing being, they don't 'slip' too easily, and he'd picked up a few of our ships in pursuit (Yes, I did see that Bretonian gunboat. It was dealt with later.)

-Outcast 'Tridente' Gunboat
Now, that was just a bloody ridiculous deployment of ships. All capital vessels were ordered repeatedly, by both Commodore Robinson an' myself to withdraw. I don't know if the Outcasts've been droppin' cardamine in the water or something, but we got no response from any of the Siege Cruisers. All gunboats, with the exception of the LNS-Providence withdrew (Cmdr Frost was the only vessel given clearance to pursue.) The Bretonian Gunboat floated off at this stage (He later resurfaced near Rochester.) Now, since these commanders completely bloody ignored us, Robinson ordered the deployment of the LNS-Durango in case a more... forceful approach was called for. The Durango seemed ta' return the Ashley somewhat to her senses, though the Rhinebeck disappeared. Ashley reckoned' she wasn't part of the Navy and therefore wasn't under our jurisdiction, something that's now been rectified.
Movin' swiftly on, we received reports from a trading vessel (Transponder: ITV-Freebom) regarding an Spyglass pulling in at Rochester. The bar there's decent, but 'ardly worth risking a battleship for. Somehow he pulled the thing into dock before we arrived. Got a decen' conversation about the bar out of the crew of Hell.FM though. Robinson opted not to take action on Tharog, so we pulled out of the field.
Was around then the Durango returned to base, and I received a report of a Rheinland Gunboat in Texas. Two gunboats were dispatched to give him a warm ol' welcome to Liberty. Shame that he surfaced in New York shortly after (Transponder: RNC-Kaiser.Wilhelm) [Gunboat]). The Rheinlander then launched a solo attack on Norfolk Shipyard. The thermal plates prevented any harm to civilians, thankfully, though the port bay'll be unable to launch ships for a while now (Was told about three weeks.). We were damn lucky that there weren't any civilians in the area.
Our gunboats, two from the Assault wing, moved to intercept. We got a nice little explosion out of that one, though Dorian.Tenament's Gunboat suffered serious damage and was forced to withdraw.
A few Hellfire pilots had turned up, wanted ta' watch the show apparently. There wasn't much I could do with them at the time, thanks to some hacker turning up. Basterd'd shot down a good few Navy and Civilian craft, and kept the pilots with him. Negotiations broke down an' I went in to retrieve them. That... didn't go too well. An LSF fighter was dispatched to provide assistance, by the time he arrived the ol' Executioner had given up and died. Had an engine failure and just coasted straight into a mine. Hurt like a -... Well, it bloody well hurt.

I'm incredibly happy that the recruitment staff chose to accept you. Since you have started working for the Navy you have successfully aided us in many situations and upheld the law with utmost diligence. As such, I am proud to promote you to Ensign. With your new rank comes new privileges, such as the right to fly either the BDR-804 "Guardian" Very Heavy Fighter or the BDR-845 "Avenger" Very Heavy Fighter. However, with this new rank also comes new responsibilities and you are expected to exceed the already high level to which you have been performing thus far.
I have faith that you will be able to meet these expectations and even surpass them.

The following is considered [color=#FF0000]Black Ops. Standard plausible denyability protocol is to be followed.
Operation Spring Harvest
Phase 1
Gold Wing will be inserted into Rheinland and deploy to Kreuzberg Depot (location 4C, New Berlin system) with a fleet of CTE-6000 Eagle Very Heavy Fighters and CTE-19000 Roc Bombers under the banner of a ficticious pirate organization calling itself the Diamondbacks.
Phase 2
Gold Wing, operating under cover, will commence shipping interdiction in Rheinland. Emphasis on prevention of civilian losses and collateral damage is imperative. Altercations with Rheinland lawful forces is to be kept to a minimum, only in extreme cases of self defense.
Phase 3
Operatives are tasked with cultivating local assets that are capable of collecting and shipping any and all confiscated materials back into Liberty space to be repurposed for the war effort. Discretion is advised in choosing assets that will not compromise the mission. Assets are to be rotated on a frequent basis as to keep any operational knowledge as limited as possible.
Contingency Plans
Operatives should take care not to be followed back to Kreuzberg Depot if being chased by authorities.
Should the Junker authorities give trouble for utilizing their base for illegal actions, evidence of harboring criminals within Liberty will be presented in an attempt to leverage them into co-operation. Should this fail, more drastic actions may be required.
The Liberty government is to deny any knowledge or association with this operation. Operative records are to be erased and kept on a hard backup not wired into the main Liberty Forces NeuralNet. Upon termination of the operation the records are to be reinstated with Operation Spring Harvest redacted.
With permission of the Fleet Admiral, operation can commence within 48 standard hours. Phase 1 is estimated to take 24 standard hours. Phase 2 will be ongoing for the duration of the operation. Phase 3 will be ongoing for the duration of the operation.
I know I'm chiming in a little late here, but congratulations to every officer promoted and a welcome to the new recruits - Hope you're settling in nicely*
>IMPORTANT: Embargo Violations.
After a recent patrol of Texas and the bordering Bering system, I encountered several embargo runners in the space of under thirty minutes - This is a grave concern for the security of Liberty. Nearly all embargo runners were supplying Rheinland with Superconductors.
Officers are reminded that all trade from Liberty to Rheinland is suspended under the embargo - Do not allow any goods to be transported past the border**
Following on from this, the transport vessel callsign Teggybears is barred from trading in Liberty indefinitely.
If this ship is spotted within Liberty, it is to relinquish any and all cargo currently on board, penalised with a two million credit fine and be escorted to the border. Lethal force is authorised if the captain fails to yield to demands.
* - "Settling in" does not constitute burning paperwork - I'm looking at you, Recruit Talmont.
** - Very specific exceptions to this law can be found here.
Note: Evidence of embargo runners will be provided in a follow-up report.
