In Hobbiton (Matamata), they had a pigeon problem.

Don't do what the council did.

Douse the trees they lived in with a poisonous glue.

#1: Dead pigeons stuck to anything and everything is damn gross.

#2: You'll find yourself facing one hell of a animal cruelty charge.

#3: Eggs still hatch, still have pigeon problem.

#4: Street (or in your case, veranda) stinks like chemicals and death.

My suggestion, is listen to these guys posting before me; Get a cat/dog/scarecrow

Water pistols work well also.

Let it be, I've got birds nesting in my roof lining and I don't give a damn. Its almost lovely to wake up to the sound of little birds in the morning. Though these are little finches and the like, nothing big like crows or pigeons.

We actually had some pigeons living in the roof a while back. When I got around to removing them I found the entire attic full of dead pigeons. Not fun.

Run out there and attack them with a broom while doing the dance of your people, wearing a mankini.

This. Only viable solution. Just burn down the gorram thing, and be done with it. Send pics.
