Light fighters really aren't that difficult to hit.

If someone wants to hit you, they will. Personally, I don't see why you wouldn't use ships that fit the task. Civilian and BW line.

Just because you see things your way doesn't mean every faction should be like that.
It's your problem, I bet you wouldn't mind seeing KNF in Sabres either, nor Corsairs in Eagles. Well, some of us do, and it's a good day when someone who is trying to lead a faction is listening to feedback, instead of only listening to himself. But you can always shut your eyes and ears, and 'hummm' pretending not to hear a thing.

As for the Hyena, while I agree it's not that good, I'm still leaning towards using it.

I am providing feedback, just as you are. If Avalanche chooses to listen to someone other than you, is he closing his eyes and ears? If Avalanche chooses to follow your suggestions, will I claim the same?

No. It is his, and his proposed faction's choice. There is nothing wrong under the tech rules in Mollies using BW or civilian ships.

I haven't said don't use rogue/molly ships. I've pointed out that the most fun I've had pirating was in the werewolf. I'm saying that they shouldn't hobble themselves, because trust me- the enemies of Mollies do not.

Both are right, my opinion sums up this both quotes.
I hope that Avalanche will come up with some reasonable system for the usage of the BWS, if not we just wont use them. If the VHF in question wasn't sabre with really can give you a edge in PvP, I would just say yea we use it and don't care much. But in the situation we are speaking not only about PvP bonus but about RP disadvantage of the faction if all members fly sabres. If the said ship was eagle I guess it wont be big deal since eagle is situational ship that could be flown right only by few, same as Grayhound and Werewolf.
I guess the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Well for me, it's actually not so much about advantages. Every Pirate ID can fly a Sabre, so do Mercenaries. I don't see a problem with more people flying those, since it's almost open use.
My problem is solely on how you perceive the Mollys. And I perceive them as mostly puretech.
I can say the same for Corsairs, for example.

That's a valid point. It does increase the public image of a Molly faction if they use only tech traditionally associated with them. Like a uniform. Personally, I love the shipline- apart from the Hyena, but that is not to say all Mollies should or have to fly those ships.

I'm against guilting people into using a certain type of ship, when they can use others.

I'm for personal choice and the sacrifice of some parts in order to promote an image in roleplay.

In terms of Mollys being tech purists, I think it comes down to the individual Molly really. My character, Nick O'Flannigan, for example, being a bit of a brash and proud Molly, would never think of using something not built by and for Mollys. He flies Molly ships with Molly guns and drinks exclusively Molly whiskey...
A Molly who is less fanatically Molly-centric might have no problem using an Eagle or a Sabre to further the Molly cause. Considering that this faction is meant to cover all Mollys, I think it is only natural that both sides of that should be represented. So far I think only one member has opted for a Borderworlds ship over a Molly vessel anyway, so I don't see there being a problem with a profusion of Sabres.

The proposal looks good so far.

I do have a couple of misgivings however - I share the feedback mentioned previously on including the BW ship line - I get the reasoning behind it but im the same as other folks - whenever I see a Corsair in an eagle or something else i cringe. Mollies in sabres to me would seem similarly cringe-worthy.

Also - not a fan of including Omega 47 in the areas you are going to range in, that's Deep Corsair and Hessian turf right there and I would imagine Mollies have enough of an issue to worry about in their home space. I personally would not like to see mollies regularly in that system.

On the BW line: It's quite simple. Conduct diplomacy. Ask another faction for a bunch of <insert BW ship here>, this way you limit their amount in the faction, get a shot at conducting some good RP (note: this does not need to end at a tech request thread), and still get to have some help from ships that are lets face it stronger than the pirate line. And I assure you that a templar with splitters is quite a match for a sabre with trefoils... similarly how a hussar is going to be a good match for a scimitar.

And I say this as a person with his only chars in Bretonia being in the BAF.
