Bretonia vs Rheinland

Back on topic... Here's my take on the timeline of the Omega-3 Crisis. (BTW, I think 'The Omega 3 Crisis' is a pretty cool name for what's going on... can we please use it?.) In-RP descriptions will be written first, followed by a line of '//' to describe what happened OORP. Anyone is free to comment on my accuracy or correct me. I also would like to officially disclose that all my characters are Bretonian. For all those who don't already know, RFP are the rheinland police, RM are the rhienland military, and QCP are the Bretonian privateers.

1.Three Bowex ships enter Rheinland. One of them breaks the law for sure. Another is caught carrying Copper ore in the supposed direction of Libery, which is restricted by Rheinland's blockade on Liberty, but it turns out the Bowex trader was actually just holding the ore for a man who’s ship had been destroyed earlier, and the case against him was dropped for lack of evidence. The third Bowex transport is carrying Military Vehicles, and there is some debate over whether or not he is allowed to do this. A freelancer, who is in no way affiliated with the Rhienland officials, chases this Bowex employee to Omega-3. It is there that this freelancer tells the bowex transport that he does not have a license to carry military vehicles. The bowex officer says that he does have a license, and refuses to pay the fine because the freelancer is not part of the RFP or the RM. The freelancer then opens fire on the Bowex transport.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED:
-The shooting of the bowex transport took place in Omega-3, which the Bretonian's consider their sovereign territory
-During the conversation between the freelancer and the bowex transport in Omega-3, the freelancer mentioned that 'Only ALG, Daumman, Kruger, Republican and Two Kusari Companies are allowed to carry (military vehicles)' This is how the whole issue of Rheinland supplying Kusari with Military Vehicles was brought up, as the info that 'two Kusari companies' are allowed to transport Military vehicles was discovered by the Bowex official who later investigated the matter.
//OORP Events: A Bowex indie is arrested. A Bowex official ship is caught with copper ore, but it turns out he was not breaking the embargo. Some dude (Honestly, I have no idea who this guy even was… He is in NO WAY affiliated with the Rheinland government, and is not allowed to enforce their laws, according to RM officials,) attacks an official Bowex member who is carrying Military vehicle in Omega-3

A RFP officer sends a message to Bowex officials about several fines that Bowex needs to pay on account of it's pilots. The Bowex official tells the officer that the people in question are being punished, but since the fines have been issued to Bowex 'associates,' who are not 'full employees,' and therefore under Bowex charter must pay all their own fines, The Bowex official refuses to pay. However, under Rhienland law, all corporations are liable for the actions of their members, so the RPF officer says that Bowex MUST pay the fines. The Bowex official then brings up the issue of Rheinland shipping Military Vehicals to Kusari, as found out from the events in item 1, and they argue a bit. Then, for some reason, the Bowex official decides to propose a deal to the RFP officer in which Bowex would be able to transport Military Vehicals again. The RFP officer says that this item is not up for negotiation, and takes the Bowex's off topic words as insults, and increases the fine. They argue a bit more, then good ol' Sir Jack Frasier comes in and tells them both to shut up before they make a bigger mess of things.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT:
-Some of the fines directed to Bowex were cause by the actions of its associates, not it's employees.
-The Bowex official's statements and the RFP officer's statements were completely off topic from one another.
//OORP Events:
RFP guy sends a comms asking bowex to pay the fines it has issued. However, there is some confusion about the law because of Bowex's way of referring to Indie pilots, and the RFP's attempts to fine the Offical Bowex corp for the actions of it's Indies. RFP seems to have thought that those pilots were actually Offical Bowex due to him not understanding how Bowex referres to it's Indie pilots. Then, for some reason the Bowex official decides to talk about Military Vehicles because of some evidence he found from the events in post 1. There seems to be a huge miscommunication here; Bowex thought this was a diplomatic matter, but the RFP thought that they were only talking about the fine. The mixing of subjects makes everybody angry, until Alvin puts a lid on it.

The Bowex Official from the last item sends a message bringing the info gained from the conversation, mainly the proof that Rhienland ships military vehicles to Kusari, to the eyes to the BAF.
//OORP events:
People read this story and FORGET THAT IT IS ENCRYPTED. Seriously guys... Stop using info from the comms channel in your RP when it would be impossible for you to access that info in RP...

4. The BAF bans the RM from entering Omega-3 or Bretonian space.
//Pretty self explanatory. At this time, tensions begin to rise in game in ways that can’t be documented, and a bunch of people become misinformed, and start to think that Rheinland and Bretonia are at war.

An IMG patrol is flying by South Hampton Shipyard (in New London) and notices a few Rheinland ships being piloted by people who are not flying RM tags. They stop to figure out what is going on. Apparently, the Rheinlanders are actually hidden members of the Wilde, but they are well disguised and therefor thought to be members of the RM. They are talking to a Bowex ship who is sitting outside South Hampton. The Rheinlanders ask what the IMG guys are doing there (FYI, Rhienlanders don’t like the IMG) and what Bowex ship is doing here. The Bowex ship gets a bit confused, seeing as they are in Bretonian territory. The Rheinlanders call the IMG and Bowex ships ‘hostile,’ and say that Bowex is smuggling Rheinlandic military vehicals to Liberty. The Rheinlanders say that Bowex has made ‘too many moves against (Rhienland).’ The Bowex ship says that he has never made any moves against Rhienland. The Rheinlander accuses the Bowex ship of calling him a liar. The Bowex ship says that he didn’t mean to call the Rheinlander a liar. The Rheinlander says ‘Ah ha! So if you admit I am NOT lying, then you are in fact guilty of smuggling military vehicles to Liberty.’ The Bowex ship says, ‘No, I am not.’ The Rheinlanders say that the punishment for the Bowex’s smuggling is death, and opens fire on the Bowex ship. Some strange gunship appears and tries to come to the Bowex ship’s aid, but both the Bowex ship and the gunboat are destroyed. The IMG leave the scene. Sir Jack Frasier views the chatlogs of the events, and is furious.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED:
-The Wilde is a group of Noman-infected Rheinlanders who are the reminants of the great infection during the Nomad war. They are often overtly hostile, but are capable of covert actions. Their goal is (presumably) to weaken the humans in Sirius to the point where the Nomads can stage a takeover of the sector.
-The Rheinland Military and its affiliates do NOT have jurisdiction to arrest or engage vessels in Bretonian space, unless the BAF says they can.
-This even was not the first aggression by these mysterious Rhienlanders; Apparently, they had been shooting people in New London all day, including a few junkers.
- In response to the event logs provided by the IMG, Sir Jack Frasier remarked ‘DESTROY THEM ALL,’ but being unclear as to who he meant by ‘Them.’ It is possible that he was referring to only the Rhienlanders implicated in the incident, or that he was referring to Rheinlander ships in general. Clarification is needed.
//OORP Events:
First of all, IMG is awesome in the way they organize their reports. This report was the easiest to understand, the descriptions of what happened were very in depth. If more people made reports as easy to understand as this one, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess...
Secondly, I myself was confused about this incident. At first I thought these Rhienlanders to be RM indies, but it turns out that they were actually Wilde agents. Most likely they were taking advantage of the increased hostilities in order to try to orchestrate a battle between Rheinland and Breonia, in which they have been partially successful. The Bretonian authorities do not know that these people are members of the Wilde in RP; they just think they are real Rheinlanders. The RM at the time had no clue what was going on, and didn't realize that the Wilde had set them up to look like they had just sent a kill squad into New London. Tricky, tricky nomads...
It is important to remember that Bretonia views this action as an invasion, while the Rhienland officials have no idea what happened there. This event is responsible for the main increase in hostilities on the part of Bretonia, but because Rhienland has no idea what happened during this event, RM is extremely confused over Bretonia's actions.

The Rheinland Government bans the entry of all Bretonian corporations to Rheinland. Several nationalistic Rhienlanders pipe in to say that they are behind the Rheichstad (or whatever its called...) and they will fight Bretonia. A Bowex official makes a few lewd remarks about sexual intercourse between the Rheinlanders and Kusari. The Omega-3 outlaws start planning their harassment of the area, which they predict will fall into a lawless region due to the lack of cooperation between the two militaries.
//OORP events: Rheinland decides to match the events of Bretonia by sealing of its own boarders, and the conflict escalates.

The Bretonian Government issues a formal statement in which the queen gives several titles to various members of the Armed Forces. Bretonia renames Omega-3 ‘Snowdown’ and puts it under control of one of the new Baronesses, a BAF admiral. Queen Carnia herself makes a speech, in which she makes elusions to a ‘Omega front’ and says that there is a ‘Specter of war’ over Bretonia. This marks the Bretonian government’s fully official acknowledgement of the Omega-3 crisis.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED:
-Omega-3 is part of the Bretonian Empire, but is not full house space. The more to rename the system and install a military governor signals a possible intent for the Bretonian government to fully annex Omega-3.
-The Queen is very important, especially in Omega-3. She has full jurisdiction over this system. DO NOT TAKE HER WORDS LIGHTLY.
//OORP Events:
Allllrighhhhtttt... Bretonia just took out the big guns.... The queen herself! They one-up Rheinland’s actions and the conflict increases.
Also, Lord Admiral Rodger Betram Brinkly displays his immense knowledge of the Bretonian dialect.

Baroness Snowdown issues a message to the BPA saying they may now engage in operations in Ome... I mean Snowdown. This puts Bretonia one step closer to fully annexing Omega-3.

The Bretonian Government initiates the War Powers Act, and begins conscripting every available soldier for warfare. Due to the lack of trade between Rheinland and Bretonia, rationing is instated within Bretonia. The nation prepares for full scale war.
//OORP Events: Bretonia has entered a stage in its history similar to that of Britain during the days of the Nazi bombings of London. This shows a final shift in RP from the war simply being a distant event of far off colonialism to a battle that hits home and affects the entire realm. Just so you know, the conscription DOES NOT MEAN that the BAF will be forcing people to join its faction. You may see a sharp spike in their in-game recruiting, but the draft is more of an RP event than an In-game issue.

The Chancellor dictates a statement saying that ‘Bretonian aggression will not go unmet.’ He orders a no-fly zone around the Rhienland mining station within Omega-3. Skirmishes occur within the Omega-3 system, and a declaration of limited war within Omega-3 is issued. Also, Rheinland begins covert interdiction operations within the systems of Magellen and Cortez, attempting to block of the route from Liberty to Bretonia. The Omega-3 conflict has now entered it’s shooting phase.
//OORP Events: The conflict is now officially a shooting conflict. The war has begun.

The BAF and the Bretonian government begin to consolidate their alliance with Liberty, offering Liberty the ability to stage a few Capital ships out of Cambridge in order to fight Rhienland in the Omegas. Liberty agrees, and Bretonia says that liberty may now send any attack forces headed to the Omegas through Bretonian space.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED:
-Bretonia and Liberty are close allies. These events serve to strengthen this alliance, and also allows Liberty to attack Rhienland from two fronts.
-It is unclear weather or not Rheinland is considering a similar alliance with the Kusari. So far, no official comms between the two have been made.
//OORP Events: Liberty-Bretonia alliance has now entered the military phase. Two liberty cap ships and a number of snubcraft will now be shooting the Rheinlanders in ome… I mean Snowdown.

The IMG proposes a neutral ground negotiation before the Omega-3 conflict spirals out of control. Bretonia says that it is willing to negotiate, but the Rhienlanders are refusing. We have yet to hear from the Rheinlanders.
//OORP Events: The IMG wants this all to calm over, but it is unclear weather or not Bretonia will participate. It is also unclear weather or not either side will agree to negotiate if the other side agrees to negociate as well.



Well, that’s all I can gleam from the comms channel. In between all of these, a lot of shooting has happened. One of the main things I am missing is a description of the ‘Freeport one incident.’ If someone could fill me in on the events that happened there, I’d be most glad. Also, I have no idea how the Wilde factors into this. Could someone please explain?
IN GENERAL:
-It was Das Wilde’s fault! Tricky, tricky nomads…
-Is a battle between Rhienland and Bretonia within reasonable RP? Yes. That is, as long as it doesn’t spill out of the Omegas and as long as everybody patches things up in time for .86.
