Sev stepped on the elevator, finding herself quickly dropped to the surface of Manhattan. She looked around, taking in the planet's features...the sky, the lack of black! There was no space here, towering buildings and a dulled sun. Various ships rolled through the skies in careful lanes, the traffic moving smoothly throughout the planet.
"Well...this isn't what I expected at all." she said, stifling a laugh. She took one last spinning look at the planet, then stopped, shuffling slightly.
"Ah...well then." she muttered, her child-like demeanor quickly stifled, then she looked up at one of the buildings, a slight glint of sunlight revealing something that made her go cold.
Nearby, floating over one of the buildings, an atmospheric transport passed by. A single engine on the rear kept it level, with two energy turbines at the front propelling it across manhattan. And on the side of the pristine white vessel, the symbol of Concordia Research was emblazoned in shining blue.
"I knew it..." she muttered, all elation at being finally planetside washed away.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
