~ Chapel Perilous ~

The Episkopos Prime sat silently in the small Chapel of Freeport 1. There was a small, yet growing, congregation of Discordians here, and he had come to minister to them.

His Sermon had been on "Appendix Gimmel". The Illuminati's Theory of History had just been validated again, he believed. The recent conflict in Omega 3 seemed to prove that the Cycle was about to begin again. Bureaucracy was supplanting intuition and reason on a massive scale, in an ever-increasing spiral.

But his "Flock" had seemed heartened by the message he gave them. He had noticed Summers standing in the rear of the Chapel, head still bandaged from the destruction of his personal vessel by... a bloody spinning Chao! Hopefully his message that the current events were merely transient in nature had reached the young man; and hopefully, would temper his actions as further events unfolded.

As far as the Freeport was concerned, Summers seemed to have the repairs and supply issues well under control. He would leave it to Doc whether to commit the TAZ to any further aid or not. Pope Selene had been caught here during the recent actions. Mal observed his repair ship, the Spirit.Dancer, busily replacing the remaining damaged sections of the base's outer structure. Bless the Lad!

What was needed now, by all parties, was a "long view" of the events. At any rate, Mal was certain that the Bretonian/Rheinland friction was not the "opening bell" of Verwirrung. That, he was certain, would come from another source. This incident was merely the final Will and Testament of Grummet, as it died a graceless and long-overdue death.
