"We're not exactly in Bretonia's good graces, here. They're fighting one, now two, wars, and we're taking ore right out from under their noses in Dublin and Tau-23 that could be going to BMM. Plus their conflict with the Mollys is practically a civil war as is. Do whatever is necessary to make them like us, but dont' lose our holdings in Rheinland.
"The Hessians? We owe them big time. Doesn't matter whether they are legit in their cause or not, they've bailed our asses out of so many different situations, we owe them and it's only right to support them openly, but we gotta do it in a way that doesn't piss off Rheinland too much, or else we lose three quarters of all of our ore operations - all we'd have left would be iridium in Kansas, which is running dry as is, and the gold route from Dublin to Liberty. The Mollys are making that hard, but if we don't keep the Hessians on our side, maybe they won't be there to help later. You can't deny that the Guild would be in a much worse spot today without them - we might not even have Freistadt, anymore.
"Rheinland is what all our economy depends on. How we can juggle this other diplomatic bull-scheisse with not losing all of our money, not to mention the lives of our fellow Guildsmen and women is beyond me, but they're a big concern.
"In short, we need to support Bretonia somehow, or at least keep them off of our backs.
We need to openly support the Hessians, but in a way that doesn't make Rheinland angry - that'll be tricky.
And we need to make Rheinland think we're on their side, or at least convince them that we're necessary, somehow."
