Volksfront to expand into Bretonia

• The Volksfront (official Bundschuh faction) has since it became official, since it was founded even, struggled to stay alive. A fate that we share with many of the so called 'niche' factions.
  Rarely passes a "warning for inactivity" thread where there isn't our faction listed in it. Barely, we manage to meet the criteria each time.
  
  We aren't unique. We fly sabres, shoot underpowered green-goo guns and the talk about corruption and tyranny, how ever interesting it has been in the beginning, tends to become annoying really fast, if not RPed in dialogue and with dedicated arguments.
  
  When I led this faction to its official status, I tried to be different, by allowing only the most dedicated PvPers and RPers to enter. To fill a niche.
  And well, it failed. The current leader of the VF, Jarl, opened the faction to everyone who can form sentences and hold a stick. Activity improved. We seem less endangered for now. But it was clear to us both that something had to be done to stay ahead for a change. That is why I enjoyed his full support when I started to expand the VF to the house of Bretonia on the basis of the People's Party of Bretonia (PPB).

___________ What do you hope to gain?

• In short: activity.
  
  We have the bold goal to get our faction into the first half of the faction activity list. To be up there with BDM and the 101st. With RM and the Sails.
  Showing up in two different houses, should help to make the -VF) brand more memorable and more attractive for potential members.
  But also, we want to expand our RP opportunities. To allow new kinds of characters and offer our members a more frequent change of scenery while expanding diplomatic opportunities as well.

___________ What?! Rheinlander chars in Bretonia?!

• No. Not at all.
  
  As justification for VF's presence in bretonia, we introduced the dramatic story of the People's Party of Bretonia (PPB).
  While the Bundschuh characters are either born and thus indoctrinated bundschuh, idealistic university students or the scum and the needy of Hessians and LWB, the members of the PPB are actual politicians. When the crown perceived their representation of the common working population as potential danger to industrial efficiency and thus the war effort, the royalists looked for an excuse to ban the PPB and succeed. The Majority of members were charged with treason and jailed - only few managed to escape.
  Now, those politicians can have various backgrounds. Be it common workers, union representative or even veterans. Those people are civilians - forced to fight for their very survival in space born operations.
  We believe that there lies alot of RP opportunities in this branch of characters.

___________ Will you rename the Volksfront into something English?

• No. I'm afraid not.
  
  We thought about it, but the VF has been around for three years now and left a very positive impression, as far as I can tell at least. It would also mean a lot of paper work: renaming a bunch of threads, informing admins, annoying admins to actually rename it, spend millions on renaming our entire motor pool etc, etc.
  And since both Kusari and Rheinland survived on English NPC faction names and since our Bretonian VF chars will be, well, Bretonians, we believe that the local Bretonian Players and the community as a whole will actually survive this:)

___________ OMG corruption-jabbering now even in Bretonia!?

• No, not quite.
  
  First of all, that would be far too trivial and obvious. Our faction has grown out of this system-spam crap for a long time now (No wonder, we were the first to do it back then). Second of all the Bretonian VF doesn't care much about corruption. Its not their central issue, in contrast to the Rheinland VF. All the western VF cares about is a way to get the queens head on its desk and the monarchy as a whole abolished. I promise: we will not chew off your ear with babbling about corrupted officers like a scratched record.

___________ Say there is a KNF vs BAF fight going on. Who do you kill?

• Quite simply both of them.
  
  Depending on our manpower present, we will either wait until those two beat the crap out of each other and then clean up the rest, or just jump in and kill who ever we feel like. In contrast to its Rheinland counterpart, the western VF is less patriotic, and the wounds of being banned and charged with treason are still fresh and hurting. It also sees the crown as guilty of initializing wars because of simple greed.
  Besides, we're socialists on their way to radicalization. We wouldn't even have any problem with selling out Harris to the Kusarinese in order to reach for power. Hell we even promised the Mollys that we will support their separatism if they help us.
  All these arguments don't allow us to help the BAF in anyway.
  However, the law of nature still stands: Invaders must die.
  And right now, the KNF is an invading force.

___________ What about Corsairs, Gaians, IMG, My Faction etc.?

• We will find out as we go.
  
  Well, at least for us that's the beauty of it: We don't know yet. We're really looking forward to explore the opportunities that unlawful Bretonian diplomacy has to offer. For example, some of us really would like to be hostile to corsairs. Because of our allies and for activity reasons. While others believe that an under-the-table agreement might be very exciting, too. We will see what happens. Both ingame and on the forums. Our only commitment so far, is that we play nice with the Mollies since they are basically housing us at the moment. We also have, inRP, a rather high opinion of the IMG.
  But as I said: we will see what goes around.

___________ Bundschuh ID in Bretonia? People will go "WTF" ingame.

• Yes, we know. That is why we will request an own ID, the Volksfront ID, as soon as you helped us to iron out potential inconsistencies. The ID will most likely bear the same Restrictions as the Bundschuh ID, but explicitly state that the Volksfront is the Paramilitary of both Bundschuh and the People's Party of Bretonia

___________ Where do you dock? Where can you go?

• We will be based on Molly installations.
  
  Although the current molly faction isn't official, we have engaged them in brief negotiation to harbor our fugitives. We look forward to completing the deal between the actual VF and the Mollies.

• No, not yet.
  
  Our faction status still needs to be updated, so does our wiki page. We are eager to hear your opinions and suggestions on this matter and we will wait with the update and creation of bretonian chars, until everything is ironed out.
  Some of us, like jarl, already started working on their bretonian bios, however ;D

• Yes.
  
  I can count down all the negative feedback posts we EVER had in our three year long existence on one hand. And we take pride in the fact that none of our members were ever sanctioned. And we are in this faction for the RP mostly. Of course, if you wish, we will also squeeze that trigger for you.
