Background
Times were dark for the Bundschuh when the Volksfront disbanded. The party became divided - small groups emerged but none of them lasted for long. They all disappeared as quickly as they arose. None of those who appeared was stable enough to unite the party's forces.
Some of those who had fought bravely under the banner of the Volksfront watched with pain in their hearts as everything they had worked so hard for fell apart. Something had to be done: something was. A message was broadcast to all Bundschuh members by Professor Augusta "Audino" Adler warning that the Bundschuh had grown weak. Responses were sent by a variety of people: former Volksfront officers; members of the small emergent groups; and Bundschuh members who had not fought before, but felt they had to stand up in these dark days. They all came together and agreed to build something new. Something that would last. Something which could bring the Bundschuh back together.
So, the ex-Volksfront officers took up the mantle to form an organised group once more. Rheinland military defectors, Bundschuh and other underground politicians, activists and Volksfront remnants joined together to form the VWA -Vereinigte Widerstandsarmee.

Aktivist - All regular members of the VWA; Aktivists form the para-militaristic backbone of the VWA movement. Purposely doing away with a more lengthy hierarchical structure for fear of inhibiting conscience, VWA Aktivists are eagerly encouraged and expected to report on the conduct and present and opinion on their "superiors" and co-Aktivists during operations.

Kommandant - Commanding officers managing and co-ordinating the VWA's operations; Kommandants may relegate communications and negotiations between the VWA and other parties. In addition, they commonly tend to matters that the Oberst defers to them. Kommandants in most situations may be seen leading a VWA Operation.

Oberst - Leading figurehead of the VWA; the Oberst heads operations whether in person or from a friendly place of refuge. "Lower-ranked" members are free to question and critique his orders and directives as they deem fit, but ultimately, it is still expected that the Oberst's directions will be adhered to, especially during a time of crisis.

VWA Guidelines
Piracy and extortion of civilian elements is largely non-existent within the faction. Traders and/or civilians are a valid target for the movement if any of the following is true:
- Open or covert assistance of the current regime's actions against the Volksrevolution, whether in a military, financial or resource aid manner. Attacks on allied and friendly entities will not be tolerated. Using lawful-aligned pieces of technology does not make you an enemy but will increase our suspicions regarding your ship.
- Transports and freighters carrying war materials (weapons, military-grade fuel, munitions etc.) will be a valid target unless proven to be headed towards any base belonging to revolutionary elements of Rheinland within Fatherland or its neighbouring systems.
- Well-founded suspicion/knowledge of your ship being infected. Aliens shall know no mercy. Vessels carrying alien-based technology of any form automatically make themselves viable for suspicion and piracy.
VWA members' behaviour depend on the individual. They could be a peaceful student activist within the Bundschuh, or an ex-Military officer actively hunting the oppressive regime.

Allied Red Hessians
Since the beginning of the Hessian movement, they were the closest allies of the Bundschuh and later, the Volksfront. We will help them when it is required. Hessians are the major supplier of military hardware to this faction, continuing the arrangement from the Volksfront organisation.
Friendly The Order
From the events of the Nomad War to current times, The Order and the Bundschuh co-operate against Nomad forces in Rheinland. This led to the financing of Cloppenburg Base in Bremen.
LWB
They have always been respected by all of Rheinland's unlawful factions; the Bundschuh are no exception. LWB members will always be welcomed on Bundschuh bases.
Mollys
The first time the Mollys met with the Bundschuh was when the Volksfront expanded into Bretonia. Now the VWA seeks them out to get a strong ally abroad and the gold these brave freedom fighters mine in Dublin has found its way to the Rheinland market via the Bundschuh now as well allowing for a nice profit for both sides.
Liberty Navy
The decision to side with Liberty in the ongoing war was one of the most controversial taken by the VWA. Former members of the Rheinlandische Völksfreiheitspartei who had allied with Liberty during their time successfully threw in the idea to side with Liberty. Despite the fact that opinions on this vary it still has the support of the majority of the members.
Neutral Unioners
The Volksfront always disapproved of the piracy mindset of the Unioners. Regardless, to be as efficient as possible the Bundschuh remain neutral for the time being to use Unioner facilities in the Hamburg system to target Vierlande Prison and commence partisan strikes against both Liberty and Rheinland parties in Hamburg.
Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army
While no Bundschuh believes SCRA to be a threat, the limited contact between the two factions has not been sufficient to establish any relations one way or the other.
Unfriendly Unaffiliated pirates and terrorists
The disrepute which the Bundschuh have not given the Unioners is applied to the various pirate groups not supported by any of major powers within Rheinland's borders. Ships are investigated on an individual basis and any perceived threat's removal or destruction will be deemed necessary for the betterment of Rheinland.
Hostile Rheinland lawfuls
Revolution has always been considered thus. While not as aggressive as some factions, the Bundschuh will not simply be drinking tea with those they meet. Oppressors will be targeted. Opportunist targets will be taken into consideration. Vessels openly assisting the Rheinland government are also considered part of this category.
Nomads
The Bundschuh was one of the first factions to realize this serious threat during the Nomad War. Considering them a danger of enormous scope, the Bundschuh actively assisted The Order in purging any alien influence from Rheinland in the past and will be ready to do same should the need arise.
