Attacks against IMG in O7: Kruger initiates, Mercs attack, RM ignores

Guten Tag, meine Damen und Herren.

I have troubling news from the Omega 7 zone, I fear.

Two incidents, the first one irritating but not dangerous, the second one troubling and dangerous.


Mr. Henderson, a Defence pilot in a Nyx was called via system comms to the northern Cobalt field. He responded to defuse a problematic situation. This is the audio log. Visual logs are available if needed.

IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: He is mining Cobalt. And IMG cobalt goes to INgolstadt.
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: That's what he's doing now
IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: As he only fields mining lasers, he is no threat. to no one.
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: He had over 2000 units of copper when we first saw him
IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: It's no crime to have copper ore.
[RM]Fl.Von.Stauffenberg: But if he brings them to places that we dont want
[RM]Fl.Von.Stauffenberg: But seems like there is no threat now

IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: So... if you have evidence that he is taking it to a place you don't want... present it.

Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: This isn't the first IMG we've caught with copper

Then the Kruger miner restricts IMG from mining commodities in the northern fields, something that runs against all agreements that were made after the Omega 7 conflict and its peaceful resolution.

Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: And while we're happy to let you mine, if we say not copper, then you bloody well don't touch copper in these fields
IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: You cannot order IMG anything, Sir.
IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: If... then the German Bundestag can call us.
IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: But not a Kruger miner... some... Kruger miner.
IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: If you want to do politics, bring a politician.

I was not aware that Kruger now starts to claim the north, after Daumann claimed the south of Omega 7. This is far from what the cease fire premises were, I fear. If that was just a miner that lost his temper, I could just forget it. But a Rheinland Military Commander stating the following makes me think the problem runs deeper:

[RM]Fl.Von.Stauffenberg: We cant let them to take it out

I am not aware that Rheinland put a ban on the mining of Copper. IMG| has ceased copper mining as two of the main selling points that make sense are in Liberty (Houston) or Bretonia (Newgate) and thus not accessible at a time of war. We understand that. And respect the laws and agreements, something I cannot say for the Reichsmarine and the Kruger.


Then a Kruger| miner told a Merc callsign "Fahrenheit" to attack an IMG| Defense ship in the north of Omega 7. A present RM| vessel watched, took notice of the attack, joked about it and flew away.

Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit: Aye?
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: While Kruger command will not honour the destruction of an IMG vessel
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: I will, double bounty, go get em
Fahrenheit: Aye aye

IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: Police? Do you accept that?
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: Perhaps now you'll feel what we have from you.
Fahrenheit: He can't see anything
Fahrenheit: Can you Von?

Fahrenheit: See?
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: Of course, you culdn't survive a direct Nova torpedo that kills half the crew

IMG|Sean.Henderson.[D]: RM, I am being shot at by Fahrenheit, as the Kruger bountied me
[RM]Fl.Von.Stauffenberg: See, see what? i dont know what are you talking about
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: Stauffenberg, would you like to grab a drink at Elbich?
[RM]Fl.Von.Stauffenberg: Love to
Kruger|Offenbach: Darwin: Once this load is done, we'll catch up to you

I have the following questions:

• What did the Kruger pilot mean when he "doubled the bounty"? Does Kruger have a bounty against IMG?
  
• Is the Kruger pilot's behaviour acceptable for the Kruger company?
  
• Is the Reichsmarine pilot's performance acceptable measured against the RM rules of engagement?
  

The IMG pilot's prudent defensive reaction (not fighting back, not attacking the miner who ordered him to be shot at but retreating to Freistadt) might have saved Omega 7 from another unwanted regional conflict.


IMG forces in Omega 7 have been instructed to remain calm. We will however hunt the vessel Fahrenheit as it is a threat to IMG mining operations as proven in more than today's incident.


We trust in the Rheinland Bundestag, the Rheinland Military Oberkommando and the Kruger Leadership to sort this out and to remind their personnel that ceasfire, peace and coexistence depends on the actions of a few, as well as on the actions of politicians. I hope that reminder to these hazardeurs comes soon as it's only a question of time until actions like these presented above lead to a breach of the cease fire in Omega 7.

I will make sure that IMG are not the first ones to open fire in any case. But we will have to defend ourselves if attacked.
