First allow me to commend each and every participant vessel and crew who took part in yesterday's convoy maneuvers. The movement was even more successful than attempts by Mr. Belmont's corsair aquaintance to forcibly sodomize Mr. Moreland. But enough of that, to the details:

The convoy was set to RV at 2000SMT, New London, however several vessels did arrive early and were successfully filled with ore loads in Dublin by my own AI mining Droid and a rather cheeky fellow by the name of Dink Smallwood. My Onyx Type 88 Droid swears that this Mr. Smallwood is a lunatic, but he actually seemed the rather nice sort of fellow, if perhaps more than a little eccentric. There were some issues with Mollies, but both the droid and Mr. Smallwood did provide more than proper distraction for the unruly codgers allowing normal operations to continue unmolested. It was then, as operations were wrapping up, that I patched into the Droid remotely to access its flight recorder as the girl headed back to Essex. At that point I heard the most horrible sound coming in over the short-range E channel of the Droid's communication equipment. Yes, the sound we all recognize like that of a cat with its tail caught under a rocking chair. The unmistakable screeching of a Molly butchering the Queen's language with demands to 'stop'. I was amazed and bewildered, as the man sounded to be no older than a 1st Grader and had the communication skills of one to boot! Well, the Droid considered its options in a nano and immediately activated Evasion Protocols aiming straight for the upper plane on maximum burn, the silly codger of a child in hot pursuit. Evading incoming missile-fire from the aggressor, indentified as a Molly indie named Unlimited-II, the Droid was able to put some distance between itself and him. The Molly, proving that his methods of begging and pleading were indeed 'unlimited', attempted to talk the Droid down. Of course the AI, Sheila as it is refered to at BMM, refused and considered switching to Combat Protocols after determining that the Molly was only a minor threat. I patched in and nixed that idea, believing it rather cheeky to lead the poor child on a wild-goose chase thus allowing the convoy to leave Dublin unmolested. The bloody silly codger chased the Droid a grand total of 613 kilometers above the plane, issuing pleading demands and threats the entire way. I swear I thought the child was going to cry! Anyway, a few moments after 'Sheila' decided that 'she' had heard enough and cut off communications, the child gave up and turned round for home. The Droid decided to wing another 10 klicks before turning around itself. Needless to say that the indie Molly attempted to accost the Droid on the way back to Graves, but a few bursts of Tachyon fire and a SNAC shot sent the cur scurrying back to his hole.

Properly filled and prepared for convoy, the ships no longer needed to access the Barge vessel on loan from its BMM captain for the convoy effort. Thus we left the vessel in the continued care of the BAF aboard the Battleship Essex. Unfortunantely, this did put us into a bit of a pickle with the fair Commodore Piett, who unbeknowest to me, had received my previous communication concerning needed security for the Barge transfer. The man did dedicate another Battleship to this need. Needless to say, I was rather embarrassed that I had to inform him that I wasn't aware of the arrangement and that the battlewagon would not be needed. However, I am going to keep this issue in mind. There very well maybe such a need for the next convoy, depending on how mining operations go

The convoy did pull out a wee bit late, as it does happen often. Again, the BES Leeson did not make an appearance, apparently still suffering engine hic-ups. As Mr. Peterson commented sometime earlier, it's a wonder what we pay those at Services for. They certainly don't seem to be doing their jobs!

The rest of the convoy consisted of:

BES.Wolfe, Capt Moreland, assistant convoy leader and convoy navigator
BES Dangerfield Capt Ashmore, security lead and scout
BES Godber Capt Boothbishop, assistant security lead and shepherd

Harry.Dreden Independent
SS Botany Bay Independant

We had also hired a mercenary to provide close escort but again the shirker did no show on time. We also have reason to believe that the Zoner-sired freak sold our convoy information to an independent dealer of information. For that reason his contract has been terminated and I am very seriously considering putting his bleeding head on the bounty chopping block as I did with the last ner-do-well who tried to double-cross us.

The route, this one chosen by Mr. Moreland, is of course classified ExSec Delta 087, but is available upon request from parties with the proper clearance.

The movement itself went off with nary a hitch or a bump. The Keynes did have the unfortunate issue of not reporting on time for ore procurment and thus had to carry a less valuable cargo, and the Dresden had to stop over at Graves due to mechanically difficulties, but we did pick up the Botany Bay for a limited time who assisted us in moving much needed wares.

The Dangerfield provided expert scouting even though Mr. Moreland did confuse Mr. Ashmore a few times as to our destinations. Mr. Boothbishop and his Godber did a right bang-up job watching over our flock as shepherd, athough his comments about the Lennox's flight system difficulties were less than (ahem) appreciated, but certainly no less than the Wolfe's insistance on bumping the Lennox on every opportunity. You'll be getting a bill from Services for the dents Mr. Moreland!

Other than these minor issues, there was little else of import. There was one indy pirate who came up close at one point, but thought better than to challenge us, and there was a Outcast pilot in orbit over Manhattan who kept her distance from us as well, hiding behind Newark station and well out of range of our hundred or so guns. Mr. Boothbishop did spend some time talking her up and with little effort had the cardamine-soaked lass eating out of hand. People say I have a reputation as a womanizer, which I emphatically deny, but I think Boothbishop might be the real deal. The Outcast did attempt to follow us of course, perhaps looking to pick off a straggler. Her adled brain did not count on Boothbishop and his Godber disabling the lanes behind us as we went, and thus we were soon far out of the lass' reach.

At the end of the day, the convoy cleared 198.5 million for Queen and Country, with no losses of shipping or cargo.

We had a couple of minor encounters, including a totally incompetent spy-wannabe who tried to shadow the convoy. Obviously we move too fast for his 'info' to be of any use to anyone, so it was of little consequence.

Oh, and while I am thinking about it: Mr. Moreland you little slanderous, slack-mouthed, sea urchin of a weasel! I read that 'report' of yours. Either you have your Bowex employee directory upside down and confused again, and are confusing me with Belmont, or you are intentionally trying to slander my good name. And failing at that!

Rest assured, I shall be taking it out of the hide of that ugly thing you call a vessel.

PS: Before I forget, this convoy marked that last time that Director of Operations Liam Adama will Captain the Walpole. He has turned the vessel over to a new Captain and will be assuming his Directorship duties full-time. Those of us down in the trenches wish you the best sah! You richly deserve the promotion.
