I'm aggravated

I came here about four and a half years ago. I was a fledgling writer. I enjoyed it. There was a spark of creativity in me that had washed over from other mods. Over the years my writing improved, my skill set was obviously in the creative arts...I enjoyed RPing with people in the server, even if I wasn't fighting. I had a blast playing my typecast [Nemesis] AI cruiser and flying around "hacking" my enemies ships and turning them against one another. People actually enjoyed it! It was something new, something fun.

Then all the people I used to play with LEFT. All of them.

I found myself around new people...people who didn't understand my RP mindset. It was annoying to me, irritating, and most of all, frustrating. When I'd RP as [Nemesis], they'd just run straight at me guns blazing screaming their heads off. When I would try to hack their ship, they'd ignore it and just keep attacking me like nothing was going on. Like I wasn't RPing at all. Then .86 came out and everything went on it's head for me.

Some of the people I might have forged friendships with noticed that I quit logging in game as much. The new stuff wasn't very appealing to me, too much changed. I still stuck around on the forums, because you're all my family. You're all cool people and I really do consider you all family. I like brainstorming my ideas to the forums and having you guys bounce back your ideas the build onto mine. It's something to pass the time as I get older and realize that I'm still alone at the age of 25, having never had a long term girlfriend that hasn't been a "b-call" (you older guys can figure out what that means). So, in my loneliness, I come here and it helps to fill that void, and I love you all for that. However...

...as of late, I decided to re-enter Discovery in game and play a little more. I started to smuggle again and realized it was fun, even if it took a long time to earn credits, that wasn't what it was for, it was fun to run from the 5-0 and talk trash as I ran...hearing them curse my ship as I left them in the dust (by curse I mean saying things like "COME BACK HERE AND TRY THAT AGAIN!") It was enjoyable to see other smugglers and offer to help them, even if hardly any of them replied. After a while though, it got old...and I tried to play [Nemesis] again. Realizing tonight that I've lost all skill with a Cruiser that I once had because of the changes to combat with larger vessels (I.E. Turret Zoom/Steer ect) I died within mere minutes. It deflated my happiness that I had found while smuggling for the week. I'm sure next week I'll be back to smuggling again, trying to RP with other smugglers that I've found is futile...but at least I'll enjoy making the lawfuls look stupid running away without them being able to catch me.

Basically, in the end, I'm just aggravated because I can't seem to get anyone to RP with me in game, everyone I knew before is never in game, and if they're are, they don't ever talk to me because they're more involved in what they're doing than to talk to me. If this is really an online game, why the hell am I always smuggling by myself with no one to talk to? Feels a bit usless if you ask me.

Just speaking my mind, not trying to sound negative, but there's only so much you can take before you just have to say something. Maybe I just want attention because I'm not getting it, I don't know...I just wanted to bring up my thoughts on the subject since no one else wants to listen to me elsewhere.
