I was actually thinking of talking to Igiss about removing the new ships and weapons. Though, it's not going to happen until the majority of the players here agree with me. I don't know about you guys, but I consider brand new ships & weapons both unecessary, and illogical.

To put it simply, all I wanted was an FL server with the capital ships unlocked. This new Discovery just isn'y my cup of tea anymore. Bleh.

Ok, I'll try to answer. First of all, we've already talked about 'new Discovery' some time before, and as you did not like what was done to the mod, I was much surprised when you decided to return. Now you say that Discovery isn't your cup of tea. Sounds strange, but, well, that's your choice.

I agree that some of the new ships don't fit right in. But - not many, and majority of ships are still FL-like. As for Homeworld ships, generally people here agreed that they should be in Discovery, and I agree that those ships are probably the best for Freelancer universe.

Dab I don't remember you complaining much about Marsflyer and Slipstream. Anyway, Slipstream will be much weaker in the next version, and I think that not many people will fly that ship; as for Marsflyer, it will remain an expensive exotic, not performing much better than any ordinary VHF. The latter ship just looks and sounds very cool. I personally like to use it for testing, for example. Even if it doesn't match the universe - well, why not just let it be? Evolution ships that were mentioned in this thread - well, they don't allow to use them in other mods, so if you like them that much, better go and play on their servers, what more can I say.

And remember that NPCs don't use any of the new ships, so you won't see many of them around at any time. But players may need some diversity. I'm even adding a few more 'black' Slipstream-type ships, for they might be of good use for Phantoms and other Phantom-like factions.
