yep... I also think that it would be more of a suicide weapon than anti-fighter..

Unless you want some mines with huge blast radius that explode on your ship shields damaging everything around.... that's just crazy...
Anti fighter mines with big speed..... strange- that's missiles right?
Anti fighter mines that stay on one place and don't move ...... hmmm don't know how that will work.

On the other hand I can see some new kind of anti-capship mines - some 40m/s speed and more damage...

but maybe it's better to just drop it.
