A Key Emergency

Kian Williams felt cold very cold, all except the back of his head which felt warm and wet. He stirred and groggily sat up. He felt ok for a few seconds then his head exploded in pain and he felt dizzy and nauseous. He reached behind and touched the back of his head, his hand was covered in a thick sticky liquid'€¦..'€My blood.'€ He said to himself stupidly.

Squinting round the room is blurry vision could ascertain that it was dark and little more. He slowly and carefully pulled himself up, leaning heavily on the wall, his right hand leaving a bloody palm print. For one strange moment he was brought back to classes at nursery on Leeds, finger painting in ever more garish colours, and here he was again only with a very different kind of red.

He shook himself out of his day dream and searched for his Pistol, it was gone. This made his situation a whole lot clearer'€¦ Some one had hit him and left him here and taken his things. That was clear now. '€But who, how and why.'€ The questions came rushing through his head. '€œNo no no Kian, not now. Focus.'€ He looked around the room again, and saw large burners for cooking food, various pots and pans, and lots of food scattered about. This was clearly the kitchen, and if so there was bound to be some ice for his head. He moved unsteadily to one of the tall catering freezers, and opened the door. Sure enough inside was several trays of Ice cubes, he pulled out a couple. He found a plastic sandwich bag in a one of the cupboards, filled it with the ice and applied it to his head.

Not wanting to be caught by surprise by whoever had attacked him, he took one of the sharper kitchen knives, and slotted it into one of the deep pockets on his long coat. He staggered to the door of the kitchen and tried to open it, but it was either damaged or had no power, he could not for the moment open it. He knew the bar was beyond the kitchen so he banged loudly with his fist, on the door and called out '€œCan anyone hear me?'€
