Land of milk and honey? Far from it. A nation where the rich get richer off the backs of the working class. The poor get poorer and suffer from harsh work conditions. Corporations like DSE setting the computers to reduce the flow of oxygen in the corporate ships to save money, causing the pilots to not get enough oxygen and suffer from early onset dimentia. Ageira seek only every last credit they can pinch away from their workers. Interspace Commerce using it's wealth and clout to collapse an entire house? How long until they do the same to Liberty? A corrupt police force working for a corrupt government that shells out benefits to the super rich and looks upon the working class as if they had just stepped into a pile of dog poo while walking through the park.
These are the things I see with my own eyes. I don't have any degree to hang on my wall for the suits to ignore. I spent my time working just as my parents have, and in my spare time I read and research. I'm not liking what I'm seeing. Politicians are a problem, no matter what they say. The one tryinig to get in office berates the one in office for corruption, only to be just as corrupt once they have the job. Revolving doors and endless repeating cycles.
I've come to the conclusion it's time for a change, even if it means that change must come at the point of a gun. In reading through ancient historical archives I have come across these words:
'Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny'
and
'The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive.'
These were writ by a man named Jefferson long before the war that took our home system of Sol. There's truth in those words and a fire burning within me. Another quote I found from another man unidentified is "'Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.'"
I'm 21 years old and I've got a part time job working the bar at Ames station. If you think your group could use me, I'll be there.
