I'd rather see battleships with more realistic physics that don't get knocked around by fighters and pinball through asteroids. As long as they can dock, that's fine. I don't use tradelanes with battleships. There might be a problem getting the Nomad bs out of the Unknown system though...
Rheinland BS - I think it would be dull making one bs much better than the others, as everyone would want it. I say make them more balanced, with their own advantages and disadvantages.
