Biography: Ranald Gordon is a man with few values. He is loyal out of necessity, but not to a fault, knowing that loyalty and persistence pay off in the long run. He's ruthless towards rivals and enemies, but not unpleasant, using back-door favors and subtlety to out-compete and out-maneuver them, as opposed to blatant aggression. He has a smile that rarely meets his eyes, save for with close friends and acquaintances. He values himself, his close friends, his work and the unreachable goal of satisfying his itch for credits and wealth. He was raised in Bretonia, on Cambridge, born to a scientist and a Green Front activist. As an act of subconscious rebellion against his idealistic parents, he set his sights on the capitalist dream early in life. After college, he spent close to a decade working for companies on Cambridge and New London. Goal-oriented and ambitious, his education and resources went to finding a way to get in on what he perceived to be the "action" of interstellar trade. Witnessing the way that, even for space pilots, most corporations treated their employees like ants, he looked to the space between the houses for his niche.

When he heard of the IMG, and its lucrative trade runs, the relative independence of its workers, and the myriad employment opportunities, he funneled his resources into getting enough flight sim time and credentials to pave his way into employment.

Outline the Independent Miners Guild goals: To mine and exploit the resources where the Houses are too fearful to tread, to trade these resources with the Houses, to maintain the independence of affiliated miners and traders from the encroaching influence of the Houses, and to protect the aforementioned operations from pirates and assorted scum, with force if necessary.

What can you contribute while inside the Guild ? My feel for money and trade, among other things. I was educated on Cambridge, so I have my fair share of knowledge and aptitude to throw around. I can't shoot too well, but if you're looking for talkers, I can do that well enough.

Which are your personal reasons for joining the Guild ? Also, which IMG Department would you like to be part of ? I figure, house-interference in the gears of industry isn't healthy. I'd rather work for a company, independent of most of House influence, in which I can grow and prosper, and help my company grow and prosper, without some Queen or Kanzler breathing down my neck. Given the choice, I'd like to participate in the trade department foremost, though the exploration/research department would be alright as well.

How long do you play in the server? Have you ever been of other player factions? Been around since '08, near as I reckon. At various times worked with CR, Zapp's (I think it was his) from-scratch IMG indie group last summer, a few other little things which never really took off.
