Do Bombers suck as much as I think they do?

alright, today we had 5 players in alpha (2 bombers, 2 fighters, one other fighter/bomber, not sure which) In comes an IMG tagged BS advanced, along with a corsair GB. Care to guess the outcome? We owned them.

I happened to be there flying a Sabre (Falcata not ready yet:() If you see the point.. the whole group had 1 Supernova and we didn't had any problems at all with a GB and a BS!!!

In the morning I killed a GB in front of New Berlin alone in my bomber (with NPC help of course).

1 Bomber and 1 fighter made Tinky in his GB run when he lost his shields twice today.

Another one from today:
Me and Turkish took on the new Corsair cruiser...and we owned him. Turkish didn't lose any bats/bots... I lost 20 bats. .... Poor guy in the cruiser kept PMing me how he threw money out of the window when he bought his cruiser!!

Another example from today... there was a small party in New Berlin (first 3 Unioners then 4 Ros, against 2 RM + 1 later + 1 after), now Turkish survived the whole (~2hours) long engagement in his RH bomber. Not agile enough heh?


Now I'm getting the impression that the only people that scream about bombers being bad are the ones that don't fly them regularly!

Buying a bomber and doing 5 turns with it is not enough to compare.

GBs should be support against fighters.. they should actually be the most difficult Caps to kill (for bombers). Now with the energy recharge increased it's not that difficult to kill them.

Again Gunships should be balanced... and they will be.. but if you change all bombers to cope with 2 gunships.. then you have to change all the fighters to cope with the bombers.....and so on....

Please Igiss don't do any radical changes to bombers!




@ Unicorn well when I'm such a good pilot why did I had problems to defeat you 1on1 in Chimaera vs your Kusari bomber (in beta 4), before it's agility was decreased?

Don't know about Taidan. RH is RHeinland bomber.
Bombers I fly:
RH bomber - 2nd least agile bomber (if we believe FLstat - which is not 100% true)
Blood Dragon bomber
Kusari bomber
Falcata
Praetorian (on PVP)

EDIT2: @ Chopper: Yes I am screaming not to get bombers that I use 50% of my fl time better... crazy heh?
