Freeworlds is also even more official-faction based than discovery.

You even have a shiplist from which you can pick if you're not within a faction, and must delete all your civilian ships once you join one. As I gather, you as a player cannot be in more than one faction at once, and are limited to one account's worth of characters.

Given that this is one of the main complaints of disco, and its nowhere near that bad here... I can't really see there being an exodus to Freeworlds.
