Outcast gunship WindOfHope was rushing through tradelanes. Using hostile tradelane transportation system was always risky, but Lucian never cared. His pirate life was full of risk, and he enjoyed it. Without feeling danger he couldn’t fully enjoy times of peace. Without feeling pain he wouldn’t fully take delight in moments of happiness.

Red alert lit up on the control panel, indicating trade lane disruption. His comm monitor came to life, showing beautifil Kusarian girl. Lucian’s heart rate increased twice.
“Konnichiwa Lucian!” she greeted him.
“Hola Mai Lin!” Lucian said, looking at her wonderful green eyes. This girl was making him crazy. As well as whole Kusari.
“Same place as yesterday” he smiled. “Lets wait for fishes”.
“Jamm jamm” Mai singed.

After some time a Samura trading vessel emerged from disrupted lane.
“Please, stop your engines” Lucian said. “Do you see this beautiful girl? She needs a new pair of heels. So we ask you for a little donation of 3 millions credits”.
Trader silently accelerated.
“I have flown so far and you don’t pay?” Lucian shouted, accelerating towards the trader.

Suddenly another vessel exited the tradelane. Kusari destroyer! Lucian sweared. It was his fault, he shouldn’t had taken tradelanes. They tracked him. It seems Mai will not get new heels today. More likely he will get new legs in some 3rd rate infirmary. Or coffin. In unnamed grave. Live each day as if it’s the last one. Today it will be too literally for him.

“Retreat to Ainu” he told to Mai. “I will be right behind you”.
He turned his gunship towards the destroyer and energized his 8 Outcast particle beam cannons. “You will not get me easy, Kusari dog” he thought. And then he saw blinding flash or purple-blue light, indicating violent energy release when energy torpedo hit the destroyer’s shields. He smiled. Mai hated to work but when she was getting hot her targets were becoming supernovas. Hope blossomed in Lucian’s heart. One day will be the last, but it will not be today.
